He's the franchise quarterback, though. Why risk the possibility of making something worse in a meaningless game?

Plus, if you're the head coach, how can you not just tell somebody you want them to sit?

Cam was cleared of a concussion when we were still in contention. If the roles were reversed, if Cam had the concussion against NO, and it was his 2nd one, I truly believe, despite Rivera's many faults, that he would sit Cam as well. That's all I'm saying.

I agree, I was more objecting to the Luke and Cam comparisons, totally didn't situations imo.

Honestly, Cam could have been fully healthy and I'd still have supported sitting him today.

Rivera is rowing with one oar.  He tells players to "be yourself" and then proceeds to favor players (like Luke) that meet his 1950's football mentality.

Luke should have played as soon as he was cleared.   If he's gonna be a Dan Morgan the sooner you find that out the better. 

I'm tired of this head coach and his bad in-game management, his poor player evaluation, and his confirmation bias.

With the battering Newton has endured this season, I think it's a little too optimistic to suggest he only had one concussion. I've never seen a QB take that many shots to the head.

Luke was cleared too, but Rivera felt the need to bench him though. Cam should've been benched with Luke.

Rivera is an idiot for playing his injured franchise QB in a meaningless game.

Luke was cleared when we had virtually no shot at playoffs. When Cam was cleared we were still fighting for the division.

If your point is that Rivera is an idiot for playing Cam then I understand. May even agree.

I only replied because I thought you were implying that he was treating Luke better or that he finds Luke more valuable...
