But here's what you have to think about when it comes to Gettleman's picking up of free agents: Look at how many diamonds he has found in the dumpsters for us. When there was no money to be had, he found us key, core players that came in and added to the team, both in abilities and in teaching. He turned this organization around and took us to the championship last year with that, augmenting his good drafts and some of Hurney's gems from years past (Hurney was a first rounder genius... so-so after that). What made G-man such a good bargain hunter was his vast experience with scouting and personnel in this league, he knew who were real players and who would fit within our scheme. He also knew who were flashes in the pan and who were already worn out and unfixable. Those skills, and that knowledge, are going to be just as important now with the ability to go get some of the big names.

I can pretty much believe that if he puts down the big bucks on a player in FA, then that guy is going to be a performer for us and one who buys into the system, stem to stern.

And those rookie DBs we've played this season. Well, they are turning into something, aren't they?

I know it is not hip to be optimistic around here. Some folks will just go nuts if you do. But if you are honest with yourself, you pretty much have to be for the future. Well I guess you don't have to be excited, it isn't a rule.

 

I mean, that is the one thing I am hanging my hat on this year. If Gman found us serviceable FA when we were broke? I have to believe he can be even more effective when he has money.

JR makes money off of the merchandise sold through the team store. That is true. He also gets a share of merchandise sold through the NFL, as every team does.

 

The bulk of JRs money comes from the NFLs deals with television. There is much more money there than there is in seating, concessions, or merchandise.

How many prime times did he have this season? 

Dont worry about next season. He'll get a couple again; Cam and Luke.

I believe you have a point you are trying to make. I just have no clue what this has to do with anything. I mean, what do Prime Time games even mean?

Oh, I wasn't trying to downplay Mario. I was just emphasizing the importance of KK. I defiantly want Mario back. He is as important as anyone on that Line.

Jerry has had 20+ years to build a team, its 2017 and still no consecutive winning seasons. So I guess I'm just wondering exactly how long it's going to take to "fix" this team.
