Disagree. McDermott still ran a good attack but the offense was so thoroughly ineffective in the second half of games that the D was on the field way more than it needed to be (and sometimes in bad situations).

I'll grant McDermott may have too much faith in his system at times, but I think overall he's a good DC.

Most of the money and draft picks have been spent on the defense though. You asked Shula this year to give you 30 points with the a patchwork Oline that was exposed the previous year. Not really a easy task if you ask me. While the defense got the first,second,3rd, and 5th round picks this year.

That's been suggested before and the stats don't really back it up.

Someone a while back checked Spotrac and found we were actually spending much more on offense than defense.

Agree opposing teams defense takes advantage of offensive deficiencies.

The one year Dave didn't hit a grand slam in FA we went from 15-1 to 6-10. Is that coaching or not addressing needs? We did by the way find two really good CBs in one draft as well so you cant say Dave bombed on the draft at all.

Money yes, because of Cam and a terrible contract with Stewart. But most of our drafts have been devoted to Defense.

I think they said it recently on a game broadcast that we have the 2nd lowest paid defence in the NFL.
