to be a FB is a work around that you need extra help.  I would rather just focus on fixing the real need which is the OL.

as far as WRs go.  Fun Fun should be backup KB or vice versa IMO.  This whole twin tower WR offense is something that just sounds good on paper IMO.  We need diversity at WR and need to go ahead and focus on having a variety of threats.   Ted Ginn Jr isn't 7ft tall (or actually good)  and he is the most dangerous WR in our offense.   I think we should be able to improve our WR corp fairly easily.  I'm not saying KB and Fun Fun shouldn't be on the field together but the core of our passing game shouldn't be those two on the field together.  Makes life too easy on a defense.

Agree with everything you said. I also think that if we don't go FB we will definitely need a 2nd TE then. I hate doing this but going back to Cams first year with Olsen and Shockey was very successful. We completely went away with that when Chud left.

As far as my receiver wishlist...

WR1: KB (if he can get back to pre-injury explosion and agility)

WR2: Draft/FA : A speedy guy who can catch

WR3: Funchess

WR4: Ginn (where he should be)

Tom Sorensen wrote a piece on the panthers season. I do agree with some of the premise, such as the panthers not improving thus falling behind. That argument can be taken both way but what I think he didn't really hit on was the injuries and that carousel that was the offensive line this season.

Key pieces that weren't there for much of the season like Oher, Kalil, at a point the back ups as well. The Defense missed the leadership that it had last year and the savvy.

Rookie corners with no pass rush was a recipe for disaster.  I can't really blame gettleman for injuries since no one has a crystal ball and knows when those are going to go down. But what we all can blame gettleman for is the talent. Once starters were going down or left or just not resigned or tags rescinded; You were left with a lot of players with inexperience.

As the year went on some units improved while others didn't. Example. The Safety position other than Coleman has been mediocre. Even Coleman had several bad games. The Rookie Corners started off bad, even Bene after that atrocious game against ATL was let go. In the draft, even though most of you won't agree, he was proactive. Getting the 3 CB's that will probably grow together. As the season progress you also saw a lot of improvement, especially Bradberry, at one point was rated higher than his predecessor. That's huge. Worley has come around as well, Sanchez is the only one that doesn't seem to have gotten it. Rookie.

As for injuries, even though you can't predict who will be injured, you know that someone is going to be injured, and you just can't leave a position group ass-out with little to no veteran experience, so I absolutely blame Gettleman for that in reference to DB. Kind of within that same vein, everyone and their mama knew that we needed better play on the O-line, and really inherent in that belief is the need for quality depth, especially at OT. Gettleman shouldn't have needed a crystal ball to see that, so I also look at him with an eye raised on that point (just like some were doing before the season even began). As for Gettleman being proactive, I agree, but that's because he had to be, especially after he sent our best corner on his way. On that same point, Bene was injured as well, which was more of a reason to absolutely do something. Gettleman basically forced himself to absolutely go off script of the BPA because of question marks at corner, so I'm not giving him a smiley-face sticker for being "proactive," because his gambling was the reason we were in such a bad position.

If at all possible we need to bring Norv in at some capacity. Cam is a great talent and will grow with a great coach. Just like Brady and Josh McDaniels.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa...Josh McDaniels did not Make Brady what he is. That's like not even right. McDaniels is a great mind but he has Tom Freaking Brady for gods sake. It's not hard to establish an offense around him. Besides the Offense he's running has been there before McDaniels even came to NE.

I do agree with Norv coming in and at least being a consultant. I just don't agree with the comparison.

He didn't have Tom for four games this season or Gronk and they still ballled

We all know that our offense is and has been Cam Newton. Our running game was dangerous bc of Cam. Our passing game was good bc of Cam. This year Cam has been off. He looks slow. He looks hurt. He looks for the pressure from our unstable line play. His spin outside the pocket has not worked. He does not escape the pocket to run or throw. This year is a wash. It happens.

Now looking to 2017, I am certain we will see a different Cam. I am hoping that Rivera is thinking about doing what we all have been clamoring for: Quicker passing attack mixed in with deep throws. More rollouts and misdirection plays. Better protection from the line and the league.

IF we get those things, gone will be the talk about Cam and his horrible mechanics or leadership. Gone will be the talking heads thinking Cam is a mediocre QB. Back in the playoffs we will be.

Time for the front office to invest in the offense with premium talent, whether its OL, RB, or  TE

Your completely wrong about McDaniels and before he came Brady was more of a game managing QB. After McDaniels got there they used more spread and passing down field and less defense and dink and dunk.

Sometimes I wonder if we are the only fan base that talks about their highest paid player being the "end all be all" of the offense?

I keep hearing "Cam is our offense".  Well, no poo.  Most of the big time/highly paid QB's are their offense....only a couple off the top of my head aren't.

Rivers, Luck, Flacco, Rodgers, Stafford, Cam, Brady, etc.....are the driving forces behind their offenses.

Ben, Manning, Ryan, and to a lesser extent Brees have some help out there.

Now to be fair, we do have the most productive TE in the league, and IMO the best G/C/G combo of anyone listed above.

Cam needs another Safety net; another Olsen. Someone he can trust on those third downs or when a clutch catch needs to be made.

doesn't have to be a TE. Often Cotchery was that guy last season. Veteran smarts, sure hands, and an ability to get open. I keep waiting for Philly to be that guy, but so far it hadn't happened.

Firing Shula would go a long way I think.  Bring someone new in, maybe with new ideas, get everyone rejuvenated at least.   Cam seems like a player who wants to have fun and he didn't this year, and it shows.  When he's having fun he's the best in the league.

We're going to have to open up the pocketbook to fix this team though, let's see if they do it.
