Cam is Cam. Take him at his high, take him at his low. 6 years and some have yet to grasp the fact that Cam isn't changing or conforming. He's gonna win big, lose hard, be himself, wear what he wants to wear, drive his old school Chevy, do dances that most don't understand, and march to whatever tune that's currently playing on his drum. You will either love him or you will hate him.

I've said it many times. If you hate Cam, it is because you want to. The kid has been a remarkable pro.

People of ALL colors hate Cam. For a lot of different reasons. You are taking one of many points, to simplify the problem.

 

Cam is hated for where he went to school, how he left Florida, dancing, celebrating, how he dresses, smiling on the field, and many many more. Way too many reasons to try and simply imply race.

I'm not talking about people that run around wearing white hoods, and burning crosses in yards.

I don't think it's outright racism like calling him the n word. But rather following predetermined stereotypes. This sort of stereotyping has been happening to black quarterbacks for years. Like our owner telling Newton not to wear cornrows or get tattoos, ie don't be too black.

I understand what you are saying. And yes, there are folks that only hate Cam because of his color. Sad? Yes, but still true. The vast majority of the Cam hate, IMO, is because of color. The rest is just a bunch of loud people angry over piddly crap. Some folks mad at this, some at that. Add all that hate up, and it is a whole lot of hate. For no apparent/legitimate reason.

 

Which is why I say. If you hate Cam, it is because you want to. Not because he has given you a reason to.

 

As to JR. I am of the thought that all JR wanted out of Cam was the assurance that Cam could lead his team with honor and integrity. And I do think that JR was gun shy about how some of Cam's forerunners panned out. I also believe that as of this moment. JR is both proud, and happy how things have worked out with Cam.

 

Got carried away there. And it is not exactly how I wish it would come out. But it is close enough.
