Dalvin Cook or Jamal Adams in the 1st?

Also the only safety I'd want at 8 went back to OSU

Jamal Adams is good but there's much better players that can be had at 8. Malik Hooker was the only elite safety prospect

Hooker was alright.  Think he was a better FS prospect.  Coleman looked like a stud at FS last year but has struggled at SS since Boston is playing the FS.  Adams is the better SS prospect, take away those pick 6's and he's really not much better on tape than Adams.

If those were the top two guys on our board, I'd go Adams all day long. I'm just not sold on Dalvin Cook in the NFL. It seems like all of his runs are boom or bust. Like he either goes for 10+ or no gain. Not sure he's the type of consistent chain mover that you want in an every down NFL back. I think he'll be a good player, I'm just not sure he's an every down back and if you're taking a RB in the 1st round, let alone the top 10, you absolutely want an every down back.

Never understood why our coaching staff 1. moved a proven performer in our defense to accommodate a lesser player and 2. stubbornly stuck with that failed move.

Have you seen Bostons effort in tackling this season?  Now imagine him at SS.

Yikes.  Looks more of a forced hand move.

Some of his best plays have actually been against the run in the box.

Plus, I'd rather him miss a tackle near the LOS than blow a coverage as the last line of defense. The guy just can't be trusted. He's far too prone to mistakes to be a starter.

Every time I see someone talk about drafting a running back I literally shake my fuging head. Complete waste of a pick when you have an o line currently struggling to run block. CAP is a lot better than he gets credit for and Stewart shouldn't be going anywhere yet. Waste of a damn pick

^This

Do people honestly think our offense would have been better with Cook last year instead of Stewart?  Cook's speed might have produced a few runs that Stewart didn't, but Stew's power probably got him some yards when Cook wouldn't have.  With the condition of our line I really don't see any back doing much more then Stewart.

I know he is getting older and is hurt some but we still have Stew under contract for another year and we have so many other needs.

Fournette would have been a noticeable improvement over Stewart this past year.  With that being said if Fournette was to drop to us I would consider that.  I'm normally not a big fan of RBs in the 1st but he might be the best RB prospect to come out of college since AP.  Also I would guess he might be the highest rated player on a lot of teams board.  Even then I wouldn't expect a huge jump in our running back production next year.  It would be more about the next 10 years.

Just watch some damn highlight reels people. Dalvin Cook is barely touched in any of his highlights. Yes, he has speed. But look at the size of the holes he's running through. Have you been paying attention to the Panthers (or the other offenses in the NFL lately?) It is a passing league, first of all. Secondly, our line and current scheme is terrible when it comes to running the ball.

We need a guy that keeps his legs churning and capable of breaking tackles. Fournette, Foreman, or Royce Freeman will be our guys.

This is what always makes me nervous about RBs from schools like Alabama and FSU.  When I watch college highlights I try to imagine if another RB would have made the same run or got as many yards.  Running 20yrds untouched is really not impressive.  Don't get me wrong, I think he has some talent.  His speed allows him to turn some of these 20yrd untouched runs into into 50yrd runs.  I'm just not sure he would get as many opportunities in our system to use that speed and quickness.  Stewart is pretty good at turning a 2yrd run into a 5yrd run.  Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he is usually one of the league leaders in yards after first contact. Depending on how how well he catches he might be really dangerous in a Fuzzy type of role but I wouldn't spend a draft pick that high in the draft for that.

Hey wow yeah our entire offense took a step back this year INCLUDING our o-line which was ravaged by injuries? This happened last year and the year before when Stew went down our offense stalled.

Second, the Eagles o-line wasn't the problem as much as the way they used Murray. They used him as an east-west runner because lol Chip Kelly. He's not that. He's a downhill power back. There's a reason Ryan Matthews does well for them, when healthy. On top of that, backs like AP and Lynch have shown you can suceede with less than average o-lines. Worth noting though! That every other HB behind Tenesse's great O-line the past year has fuging sucked. HB talent matters fam.

Finally Wow The HB With 36 Carries Has A Higher YPC Average Than The One With 198 (even then its only .2 so, lol you're reaching bruh)

If you really think CAP is our future and is on the same level as Fournette, Cook, Mcafney or, literally any HB in the first two rounds of this draft then lol

Ok

I love how everyone on here pretends to be expert talent evaluators. I'll be the honest and say I have no idea because I don't waste my life worrying about stuff that isn't in my control. This Adams guy sure has come out of nowhere on this board and now it seems like everyone wants him. All I care about this offseason is fixing our offensive line. Thats literally all I care about. By whatever means. Its time to keep Cam protected so he can perform to he greatest ability and quit taking shots all year long

To me if it's not Fournette in the first round then go Defense. Only offensive player I would consider is Corey Davis. I expect the Panthers to address o-line during free agency. Also at where we pick it think it would be a reach to get Cam Robinson. Alabama LTs typically play RT in the league

Adams didnt just come out of no where.

Most people didnt mention it on here because this isnt the draft board.  Most people dont start tlaking about draft prospects until the end of the season.  This is said to be the weakest OT class the past decade.  Saying someone we draft out of it is going to make an impact to this OL is clueless.  Take a look at the Saints.  Peat was said to be one of the top OT in that class, they had to move him to OG.  He is just not starting to get his shot at RT, not even the left side.  And even the top prospect of the group has redflags with off the field issues.  We have a good of shot of re signing Hardy as drafting Robinson.

People forget that G man is not gonna draft a tackle 1st round just for the sake of drafting a tackle. If that tackle is graded to be the best player at that point then yeah he will draft him. He is looking for impact players in the first and Adams at this point in the draft is that player.

Cam Robinson is banking off the fact that this is a bad tackle draft all together.

    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
