As for the redzone, speed isn't as important as size. It wasn't Smitty's doped but his leaping ability that made him a redzone threat. Guys like KB should even have to.leap but he can. Olsen not so much.

Its speed, shiftyness ,   etc etc  but really its about your "moves"  at the line of scrimmage or midway of the route.  I think you are giving Funchess 2 much credit for his speed I dont see 4.4 on the field, do you remeber that TD catch against Green Bay with DB draping all over him  it was ball placement that allowed him to make that play rather than his speed. 

Size argument - 

OBJ, Doug Baldwin, Antonio Brown, Eddleman, Sanders, etc etc
