KB the TE?

Really bad idea. People are talking about KB being lazy and they want him to add 25 pounds. Oh, 25 pounds of muscle?

No thanks. He's played two seasons, 1 after an ACL and with 1 more game to play has 130 catches for 1856 yards and 15 TDs.

Steve Smith is a helluva player, but his first 4 years was 158-2196-10TDs and like KB he lost a year. KB will blow by that next year if he stays healthy.

We had a bad year, but let's not act like KB has been awful. His first two years actually compares well statistically to the top WRs like AJ Green, Julio Jones and Mike Evans and none of them had to rehab from an ACL tear before their second full year. How about we not be dumb and we see where he is in 2017, his second year after the ACL, which is when most players aside from Adrian Peterson get back to normal.

The majority of his production his rookie year came in garbage time when were losing by 3 scores and teams were in prevent... don't let the stats fool you

I actually suggested this a couple weeks ago. I think he could do it with a whole off season to prepare and olsen to learn behind. The guy is bigger than a lot of linebackers for a wide receiver, in my opinion I just think DBs don't fear KB....he is just so sloppy as a wide receiver outside of catching you can contain him off athleticsm alone and the help of the sideline. Put him in the middle of the field where he can make those tough catches in open space  and force linebackers to cover him and you could have a deadly weapon.

The basic football knowledge that tells you a TE is essentially an extra offensive lineman in the run game should have killed this thought before it came to the keyboard. I have never, ever, seen a more ineffective and damaging run blocker as a WR than Kelvin. He turns his head and watches the RB with a passive block on his man and only starts holding when he feels like the play is coming to him. Yes, holding. Not blocking. Why in the name of all things holy would you want that kind of blocker on the shoulder of a tackle on a run play is beyond me.

A TE is not a lazy WR. That narrative needs to die. Size doesn't always dictate position.

Ginn's best seasons have been in Carolina but that has been because we have afforded him reps for him to be EXACTLY the same dude teams have quickly gotten tired of.  He is a veteran WR who hasn't changed.

so it just goes back to the standard question is IF Prohel is good.....what is one example of him molding a WR or improving them?  Because there isn't one.   I don't but the Ted Ginn sell and the rest have pretty much been dudes being what they were coming out of the draft. I also imagine he has strong input on the overall depth chart.  We hang onto guys like Bersin and teams like New Orleans develop the likes of Willie Snead into strong roleplayers.

I don't want to get caught up in an argument that Proehl is the greatest, but Ginn has been markedly better under his tutelage.

Ginn with Panthers - 3 yrs, 130 for 1,978, 15.2 ypc, 19 tds.

Ginn with AZ, MIA, SF - 7 yrs, 175 for 2,238, 12.8 ypc, 6 tds.

KB's production is comparable to his draft cohort of Mathews and Lee.

Funchess has done at least as well as his draft cohort of Green-Beckham and Devin Smith.  Everyone around here wanted Smith and he's got a total of 10 receptions in two years.

And again, I don't know what the usual expectation is around undrafted WRs, but Philly is solid and other than flubbing punts, Bersin doesn't embarrass himself out there.

How long should he be given to "mold" a receiver?  6 months?  a year?  How long should it take to wean a player out of bad habits?   How long should it take for Ginn to grow new non-wooden hands deadpool style?
