People act like finding a quality left tackle is like waving a magic wand. Problem is that half the teams in the league have a need at tackle. But no, please god don't sign an above average right tackle, we can just get a starter in the first round of the draft duh! Cause that always works.

Just because I guy gets benched or moved doesn't mean he is trash, take Oher for example. I do agree that we shouldn't break the bank for these guys though.

Nobody moves their starting left tackle to right tackle because they need a replacement right tackle.

They move him because they don't think he's good enough on the left.

I'd look at Reiff as a right tackle only.

Oher was moved from left to right correct? Then back to left with us?

Oher also wasn't moved because the team wanted to upgrade the right tackle spot. He was moved because he declined, but general belief was the source for his decline could be pinpointed.

Oher's decline occurred when Matsko was replaced. Matsko convinced the coaches and front office that he could being him back to the level he'd once played, and he succeeded.

Still, prior to declining, Oher could at least point to a time when he played left tackle at a high level.

Reiff never played at that level.

he's much better than Remmers.  But not worth big money which some gms will throw at him because he will be the top OT free agent in a super weak class

Lane Johnson is probably the only RT better in the NFL. So all this talk about a weak FA tackle class regarding Reif is invalid.
