There's no such thing as a winning QB. NFL isn't the NBA you win as a team. It takes offense, defense, and ST to win a SBbeaston, you know what I was saying

Newton has not exactly been on his game this year. If he is injured, sit him dowm

otherwise, he does not need to be throwing stupid ass interceptions off his back foot in his 6 th year with someone who has 3 defenders around him

he is not helping

All QB's throw interceptions, especially when you're in an offense where you know successful drives are so precious, and you can't consistently run the ball. Pair that with a defense that we've invested heavily in to say the least getting lit the hell up by noodle arm Matt Ryan, you consistently find yourself in disadvantageous situations where you HAVE to make a big play, and behind a struggling OL. I think Cam is trying to go for it all too much. But who can blame him?

You can bitch about the offense until you're blue in the face. If Newton, Rivera, or whichever player you want to mention is going to be sent to the stockades, then our GM should be taking mortar fire as well right about now. We had a pitiful offseason, and that lack of awareness for improvement is why we are witnessing what we are right now.

Pretty sure Cam has a fairly serious shoulder injury that will get operated on after the season. Possibly a small labrum tear or rotator cuff tear. I was a pitcher for a long time, all the way through college, and I had a torn labrum. I could pitch with it, but goddamn did it hurt sometimes.

I ended up having to have surgery on it, and I never pitched again...But I think QBing is very different than pitching. Cam will be back and better than ever hopefully.

I pretty much destroyed my labrum and unless i was moving you couldnt tell anything was wrong.  Thats exactly what i think is wrong with his shoulder.  The surgery and rehab is extensive but it can heal to 100%

With that said i have not raced motocross since and can barley bench press anymore without pain.....

And it was last season.

Sadly, when this team fails to build and pay an offensive line that will stay together for a few years, designs plays that take forever to develop and wants him to throw from the pocket, he just won't get any better.

He is a thrower, not a passer. He doesn't have anyone to coach and build his mechanics, he's lost more than a step and cannot look off DBs. The offense is Pop Warner predictable and it doesn't look to me like anyone on offense has Cam's back except Olsen.

Sorry, Panther fans, your QB was born with huge athletic talent, has immeasurable potential and could be one of the best to ever play the game, but I simply cannot see it happening as a Carolina Panther with this coaching staff; a corporate philosophy which doesn't put winning at the top of its priority list, a GM who has been exposed as an egomaniac and an owner who is so completely out of touch its embarrassing.

Corporate philosophy that doesnt put winning first sums it up well.

Throwing off his back foot...even with no pressure...this far in his career shows he isn't willing to learn to better himself, he may have unique talent, but the man had got to get better. Period.

Hard to not see this as being bad.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
