Some of you motherfugers could learn a thing from Coleman

oh jeebus. morphemes have no inherent meaning. there is nothing fundamental about the sound "fuck" that is vulgar, only meaning attributed to it. so i guess it's socially meaningful that he's not saying fuck but morally speaking it's exactly the same thing as saying fiddlesticks or goshdarnit because the same intent is there. even when i was a non-swearing religious person (to date i am the only person in the history of usmc OCS to get through training without a single swear word) i thought this was kind of stupid.

anyway creative swearing is awesome and i will never give it up.

That's exactly how I feel about it. It's about intent, and even in that regard, who gives a poo about intent? Fudge is just as "bad" as fuçk, śhit should be just as acceptable as crap, gosh darn it is taking the almighty Gosh's name in vain, but don't get me started down that path.

Anyways, good for Coleman? It honestly doesn't make a difference and it's really a pointless story, much like if we were to give him props for not wearing toe socks. Who gives a damn?

My dad was a 20 year Army war veteran (WW11 and Korea). He was a man's man and as tough as he wanted to be.  I never heard a cuss word from him even when he got angry which that was not often (thank heaven). I wanted to be just like him showing respect for the flag and to others.  Using cuss words does not make you any bigger a person , any smarter, and least of all more respected.  Teach your children how to be respectful to all and that will make them better people. Have a Merry Christmas !

But does using cuss words make you a smaller, dumber less respected individual? And more importantly, why?

I always told my son that it's actually more effective to tell someone off without all the cussing,  because showing them up by showcasing your command of the language usually makes them take a step back and think,  and perhaps realize that you're not necessarily the one to be trifled with mentally (and possibly physically for that matter) because they will likely perceive you as one not easily intimidated.
