Not to mention he's doing this on the outside. Most LBs getting the recognition he does are playing the middle. Can anyone even name an OLB who's played consistently at the same level as TD for the past several years?

It's Steve Smith, it just is. He carried this team for almost a decade

Thomas is the best Panther to date and it's not even close.  There have been a couple that have come close but TD is the epitome of what this team stands for.  Sam coined the phrase but TD lives it.

If Short would have matched TDS intensity it would have been nice. I think TD and Luke have a fetish for this part of the game.

The living embodiment of KEEP POUNDING.  He and Mills are my favorite Panthers of all time and he is very much to this current team what Mills was to his.  Love that man.

And this fact in no way diminishes the contributions or accomplishments of guys like TD, Gross, etc. Smitty simply was/is an all-time talent.

Really, one of the best linebackers to have played the game. Complete and well-rounded skill set, a tackling machine, game winning interceptions, pillar of the community. Really, Thomas Davis didn't come to us as this guy, he grew through adversity and became something really, really bordering on the legendary.

A few weeks back against Seattle Al Michaels was hyping TD as a Hall of Fame candidate. Said if he played in New York, he'd be a lock.

A few more years and he might well get in.
