NFL already responding to Newton hit (like always)

The NFL has failed to protect CAM. Anyone who understands football and actually watches NFL games in general can't deny that FACT.

The panthers front office have failed CAM. We have yet to add HIGH DRAFT ASSETS to the Oline to help protect CAM because we damn well know the NFL refuses too. The front office also fails CAM by not aggressively publicly protesting the NFL for their blatant disregard for CAM right to equal QB protection. Again, anyone who watches NFL games cannot deny there are one set of rules for certain QB's and NO rules when it comes to CAM.

Fug the NFL and their pus#y ass referees.

i do think the refs have conspired against cam after he spoke out about hoculi last year.

when safety for the qb is supposed to be emphasised, the nonstop missed calls week after week cant be coincidence.

i wish some proof of a conspiracy would come out. the only way things change are if the media holds the league and refs accountable.

im not optimistic for that.

Quarterback Slide

Once a runner begins a feet-first slide before contact is imminent, defenders cannot make any forcible contact and must treat a sliding runner as they would any runner who is down by contact. Once a runner begins a slide and becomes protected, he can no longer advance the football, regardless of contact by an opponent. Runners who slide sideways or headfirst will not have special protection.

Runners (especially quarterbacks) who want the protection afforded sliding players must make every effort to slide feet-first before contact is imminent. If a runner starts his slide when contact is imminent, a defender is not prohibited from making forcible contact, as long as it is below the head/neck area.

I'm still trying to figure out how Cam (or anyone else, for that matter) sliding makes a head shot legal?

I was actually pleased with KK hitting Kirk while he was still in bounds and drawing a flag for roughing, since Kirk was also running blah blah blah. It highlighted the disparity of Cam's non-calls on a national stage.

This song and dance is horrid.

I've been saying since the season opener that we needed to pay them back within the same game to draw attention to the distinction they are making when it comes to Cam vs every other QB, whether they are in the pocket or not.  But, about halfway through the season, i realized it wouldnt matter anyway bc the NFL wasnt going to fix it and continued to foster illegal hits on Cam.  So, now i have just reserved myself to expect to see Cam take hits that will leave me feeling disgusted for even watching while also gleefully hoping that our guys cheap shot the poo out of the opponent whenever possible, just for enjoyment.  And for that reason, I'd like to thank TD for the dirty work he has put in the last few weeks, and i want more of it.

One thing we don't have....is a big nasty OL.  Not in play or attitude.  We need some guys with some Ritchie Incognito to them.  Not full Incognito but dudes that certainly are looking for a reason to mix it up some.

Opposing defenses aren't worried about nothing.  I don't endorse going after that other QB because the flags will be comical against us.  I do think we could be more physical on O with defenders.  They got vulnerable spots too.  Let a guy head hunt and pay him back.

But we don't got no mean streak players.  Give 89 credit for one thing.  He would go after a DE for taking what he viewed as a cheap shot.  He gives zero flizucks.  He has that team mindset to this day.

Agree with this. Also poster above mentioned the O-line being aggressive, definitely need that too. Next season, come with a new attitude. Let teams know early, we aren't taking these hits lightly.

Couldnt agree more about not having enough of those guys.  Smitty wouldve already been ejected and took someone out with him by now defending Cam.  For all of the excuses people want to give to justify why we let him walk, he wouldnt have stood for someone cheap shotting his team.  For as horrible as Pickles was, Smitty went after Talib in Tampa for taking a head shot on Clausen.  But, according to most of the huddle, he was useless so...

And again, for as good as Bradberry is playing, and for as surprisingly well as Worley is coming along, neither of them can bring the total package interms of play AND physicality/dog mentality that Josh brought.  Again, the huddle will make excuses, but plug and play doesnt work.  You have to have a culture.  You get rid of all of your mentally tough, vocal guys who like to mix it up, and you get ho-hum, there's always tomorrow results.

Yesterday on NFL Live Dilbert showed a clip of about a dozen QBs getting hit and no flags being thrown. As much as us Panther fans want to scream conspiracy, it really is a league wide epidemic.

For whatever reason, refs are not throwing flags for those hits. For whatever the reason it is not being flagged, that reason needs to change.

only issue with that defense is they are isolated incidents with other QBs that get corrected.  That is always the defense.  Show a missed call on another QB.   Of course refs miss calls on everyone.

There isn't a highlight reel of missed calls on any of those QBs all season long. The consistency is the issue with Cam.  Missing a call on Brady is irrelevant because as soon it is missed they over correct to make up for it....that game or even weeks after.

I don't think "Groupon Gettleman" wants those types of guys on the team though.
