It's OK to publicly admit folks, it feels great knocking off the Redskins and Josh Norman from the playoffs...

The bigger thing is that our GM didn't use the savings to give our franchise QB weapons of any kind, OL, WR, TE, RB, and worst of all he didn't use it to add talent on defense. But yeah we're a non-playoff team and now that we beat Norman's team they are as well, so everything is all good. Actually I hope my GM doesn't think like that.

This board is hilarious sometimes. Winning a couple meaningless games at the end of the season like we do every year and all of a sudden its vindication for the guy who singlehandedly took a 15-1 super bowl team and has them picking in the top 10 a year later.

Yeah 'singlehandedly', you sure sound like a rational poster.

Hopefully I don't see any of you G-man bashers on the offseason threads when we talk about literally resigning our entire young core with room still to spend.

Resigning players already on the team doesn't count as improvement. AND when he doesn't spend one penny to go get a blue chip player who isn't already on the team with all this cap money in his pocket I'm sure we won't see you supporters either.

Bradberry played great, again.

Redskins backed up the brink trunk for Josh -- and I hold no ill will towards him seeking out a big contract -- and still have a terrible defense.

Gettleman vindicated once again.

Dude, Gettleman should have NOT have rescinded Norman's tag. Norman should have been playing for us this year, on the tag. Norman playing on the tag this year wouldn't have hurt us in the slightest, and we would have still had Bradberry on the other side.

As far as only one more game with Norman, I laugh. We would have had at least two more victories, and maybe three or four.

I am glad we beat the Skins, but it has nothing to do with Norman, and everything to do with family members who are Skins fans needling me about a month ago.

Ever heard of Comp picks?  Like the ones that are now tradable, such as the 3rd we are getting for having let Josh walk?

3 or 4 games... haha, try to tell that to Vegas, which doesn't move a game line by more than half a point at most for any corner in the league.

We'd be playoff contenders with 3 better play calls and a FG make. We should have beaten Denver, KC, Tampa and Oakland IMHO. We'd be 10-4 and in first place in the division/close to a lock for the wild card and controlling our own destiny for the 2 seed and bye.

Yup, games that game down to a possession or two, which historically are basically coinflips for any given team, broke our way last year and broke against us this year in a big way.  In addition to the load of injuries suffered by our O-line and secondary throughout the year, was in stark contrast to last year where they remained mostly injury free.  That's it, it's hard for folks to accept, but you play out this season 100 times and we're probably a 9-10 win team on average competing for that bye.

Why do the Redskins have a worse record? It's a big assumption to say we'd have 3 or 4 more since the defense is only responsible for 2 losses (Atlanta and NO #1). Norman isn't going to stop pick 6s and bad play calls. I loved Norman, but acting like he'd single-handedly get us wins is a bad argument when most of the games we lost were due to special teams, play calling, turnovers and penalties.

I think that we'd have beaten Denver and maybe the Vikings as well, but no one knows either way.  I certainly believe that he'd have made a difference---maybe the difference against our division rivals.  But, again, no one knows for sure, either way. So, to think that one player who plays at a high caliber can't make a huge difference is just as "bad" of an argument, especially when it's ultimately based on speculation.

    • i felt good for those few games that bryce didn't look like the worst in the league. all that fell apart again sunday.  i'm borderline just bailing on it all. i've been hanging on by a thin thread for several years. i mean it's not even fun to watch any football right now.
