What’s Wrong with Cam Newton?

The article hits on all the key issues of what is wrong.  Ones many refuse to acknowledge.

and yeah, Cam has faults.  He isn't why we struggle big picture though.  Cam's faults are more why you lose a game here or there ....not why your season sucks

The scheme failure is largely because we don't have the talent to do some pretty basic stuff needed.

I know you don't want this to be about talent....but the article does a good job talking about how Shula schemed around a bad OL last year and why he can't this year.  It is what it is.  Not enough lipstick for the pig.

There are talent deficiencies on this team as there are on every  team, especially on OL. There are way more bad lines than good ones these days.

And no, it's not as simple as "just sign someone else". The FA pool is crap. Heck, the draft pool isn't that great either.

But yes, scheme can help a bad line. Ask Seattle.

As an example, you can stop calling long bombs when the line can't hold up that long.

More people should read this.  King nailed it all.  Wade Phillips gave a blueprint to our roster weaknesses.

You fix it with talent.  There is no scheme fix.  It was a scheme fix compensating for lacking talent that Phillips exposed.

No reason to get our hopes up considering the current administration.

King didn't write the article. Andy Benoit did. And his concluding paragraph doesn't really say what you think it does.

There's plenty of criticism of Newton himself in the article, and more talk about scheme failure than about talent.

Here's the summary...

I don't think he read it.
