Official Huddle Festivus Airing of Grievances

One thing I will say is slightly annoying is the "no critiquing of Cam allowed club"

Cam is human, makes mistakes  and is the first one to admit it. As fans, we can analyze his play or decisions without getting emotional or upset about it. I've seen some solid, logical posters go full tilt about Cam. Ha

I mention it's only slightly annoying because it can also be very entertaining to read when people get all twisted up.

Gettleman's offseasons need to dramatically improve. Stop collecting mediocre players and overpaying for them. It is not better to have 4 Paul Soliai's when you can have a Luke Kuechly and 3 Kyle Love.

Need more receivers who can catch the ball as well as Olsen. Olsen appears to be a god send because of the receivers surrounding him. There are plenty of receivers who can catch the ball well and get open. Find them. Sometimes bigger is not always better unless you are in the red zone.

Need a secondary that can limit the passing options of at least the worst starting QBs in the league. If OCs have little to no concern for limiting the passing attack due to the lack of threats in the secondary, then you have serious problems that will lead to allowing record numbers of 1st downs and TDs. The Panthers are on pace to set an all time franchise record in 1st downs allowed total, 1st downs allowed in the passing game, and highest passer rating allowed. Going from one of the most threatening Panthers passing defense in team history to the absolute worst is unacceptable for the front office.

Select more than 5 draft picks per season. Use the draft to stock the team with young talent and leverage a surplus of draft picks to trade for players like Greg Olsen. Trading for players via draft picks with a deficit of draft capital will only lead to inadequate growth in player talent.

Stop being satisfied with OTs and DEs that are slightly better at protecting the passer or getting to the passer than the worst starters in the NFL. Definitely, do not pay OT and DEs millions of dollars if they can not break into or at least threaten the top 10 at their position in the NFL. Move on and find someone who can.

Gettleman needs to stop forcing Rivera to play his draft picks. Get the veterans to compete with the rookies and let the rookies earn it. He needs to stop handing his drafted players a free pass card to get playing time because he wants to see them play. That is what training cam and preseason is for. Stop that nonsense during the season. This team should not be treated as a farm team for the rest of the NFL. Boston, Ealy, Butler, Bradberry, Worley, Sanchez, Funchess, Williams, CAP, and Bene are not capable of starting or beating out proven veterans in their 30s. Stop positioning them for starting time because you want to see them on the field. It is not fair to the coaches, players, or fans.

Fans need to start holding their team/service accountable if they want a consistently competitive product to watch. Unless you just buy the hope, stop allowing GMs, coaches, and players to skate by with a poo business model. Write letters. Post on social media. Create campaigns to impact the teams bottom line until they respond by removing ineffective leadership and produce a better business model. Award positive reinforcement when the team is going in the right direction, but do not under utilize negative reinforcement when individuals working for the organization are below the line of expected production.

Some of you may like going to the same crappy business and sitting at the bar because you like someone on the waitstaff or think the manger or owner are great to hang around, but some of us want a quality experience with the overall food and service - especially if you are paying premium prices. We want the establishment to be something to rave about and bring in more people to enjoy a grand experience. We want this establishment to bring consistent positive economic growth to our business community.

Currently we have a good chef, but a piss poor manager who is not supplying their chef with the proper staff and quality ingredients to produce night after night at an exceptional level. Could you find a chef who is better? Yes, there are a few out there that are better, but they will cost you. However, the new and better chef is going to need the same improvements from the manager that the previous chef needed. If you get an inexperienced chef, then expect everything to be worse. If you cook with poo, then expect poo.

JOSH THE WHOLE REASON YOU AREN'T HERE ANYMORE IS BECAUSE YOU WANTED MORE MONEY.

The reason Josh is not here is because he was not allowed to negotiate all the way to the deadline, which he is entitled to do under the rules of the CBA. Who is to say Josh would have not signed the tender or taken less on a long term contract in July?

Norman earned that right as a player performing well and coming off his rookie contract under the new CBA - possibly his only shot at maximizing his value.

Rescinding a tender or refusing to negotiate with a player of value coming off their rookie contract because it is inconvenient for a GM is highly disrespectful coming from any organization. It was clearly an ego move that has backfired on the Panthers.

If it were about money, then Norman would have made a clear statement he wanted to test the market and would not entertain a franchise tag. Norman wanted to stay a Panther and everyone knows that. He just wanted his time to negotiate to maximize his value and Gettleman felt like he was being disrespected. A fatal flaw by a GM in any sport.

Maybe I should appoint a Minister of Trolls

Someone to call them out, take a vote on banishment.

Anyone interested?

I am.

My first act as minister is to ban Rainmaker. Nobody should be able to say the same stupid poo day after day without facing punishment.

Rainmaker your threads are bad and you should feel bad. I can't tell if you're a troll, a child, or mentally impaired.

It felt good to get that out.

This past year has shown me that everyone who joins the huddle should have to go through a stricter process to join.

You should have to submit a documented video of you sitting down to a meal wearing a Panther polo with cargo shorts...and enjoying a nice glass of sweet iced tea while you eat a  Bojangles meal...and then top it off with a nice slice of PEE-CAN pie.  One most vocally document of course what they are eating for desert.

Any divergence from this would result in you being declined access when trying to join.
