at 7 we might get Fournette....8 will almost certainly be too late.  But if we get Adams at 8 or 9 I'll be very happy

Looking at the top (err, bottom) 13 teams, you could argue that thw Browns are the only ones that could stand taking an RB. Everyone else, save for the Jets (who are kind of in the same position as us) and Jags, has a good starting RB that can play for a good three years without any problem. What team among us wants to invest such a high pick at RB with so many other needs? I know that they could still go gaga over Fournette, and some team could trade uo if they're convinced he's the next AP---err, Zeke, but I can make an argument that the Browns, Jets and Jags should be desperate to draft a franchise QB.

It's hard to quantify. In 2014, winning the last 5 got us into the playoffs and a playoff win. It also gelled 4 of the 5 starters on the OL. All of that absolutely helped us in 2015. That said, we would have picked 11th instead of 25th had we lost 1 more game. Too many potential changes in the draft to know who we would have gotten, but maybe we would have taken someone like Gurley or Marcus Peters or maybe Trae Waynes, who sucks.

In 2014, we at least made it to the playoffs, and achieved something. I am happy with that.

It's really easy to understand. I'm not a loser so I don't know how to cheer for my team to lose. And there's no guarantee in the draft, so your little claim is utterly ridiculous.

Yes, there is no guarantee in the draft only probability. Just like there is not guarantee that a 15-1 regular season, stomping your opponents in the playoffs, and being favored by everyone helps you win the superbowl. It is probability and chance. And the probability of choosing a better player is much greater with a high pick than a low one.

I'm torn. We are all but mathematically eliminated (Atlanta will beat SF and either Minnesota or GB will will 1 more besides the game against each other). On the one hand, I want the team to end on a high note like 2014 and feel like the defense has really come together for next year's run. On the other hand, I want a new OC, new special teams coach and a stud in the draft. 1 win will do that, 2 or 3 wins could knock us all the way down to 12-15 range and picking in the tier 2 players and could keep Shula/STs in tact. Also, every single round would be a better pick and this is a good draft for us. We could get the RB we want and the TE we want or if we go on a 3 game win streak watch them all get gobbled up and have to settle for the next guys. I don't want to settle.

Also, if we go 8-8, it is going to piss me off even more knowing how many missed FGs, pick 6s, bad play calls, penalties, etc. we had where we could easily have finished 12-4 and had a bye. MFer, that would sting. Knowing we went 7-3 after the bye and blew the KC and Oakland games. I'd rather finish 5-11 or 6-10 and know that we are better than that but our consolation prize is Adams, Leggett and Foreman.

I understand that logic and that's all well and good. But here's mine....

Beating the Redskins and their fan base always feels very good.

fug the Falcons always. Beating them is self-explanatory

Beating the Bucs when 650 of us are making the trip to see that game and they're fighting for the playoffs also feels good.

I get it, you're in the "tank the season" club. I'm in the "beating rivals no matter your circumstance is always very fun" club.

Junk food taste good but not gonna be good for that 6 pack come beach/pool season.

Also, no Panther fan should want to look awful in the loss.  Dominate play but have a punt blocked for 6, Ginn muff a punt or a pick 6 off the hands of Dickson, etc. are what we're hoping for in a one score loss.

So hoping for a "good" loss makes you a better fan?

This is good stuff.
