Panthers VS Redskins: What Deadskin Fans Are Saying

I haven't made a good quality thread in a while, but Redskins fans are all cocky all of a sudden, so I'll be putting them in place with a couple of my usual quality weekly threads especially if

This week, the Panthers are going against the Redskins in a seemingly revenge match for Josh Norman. The last time an old Panther had revenge against his old team, well, it didn't look good (Smitty kind of torched us to say the least.)

The Panthers look to keep their slim hopes for a playoff spot in this game, as long as the Bears or 49ers win this weekend, and just simply show the league that they are still someone to look out for. Beating the Redskins will prove to the league this team is better off without Norman, and they're not bad off at all. The Redskins look to keep their wildcard hopes alive by knocking Carolina out of the competition, and bringing about revenge with Josh Norman.

As usual, each team has their own respective fan sites, and since I noticed a new member ( @REDSKINSFAN ) on the board, I decided to go ahead and inform you guys on what fans like this guy are saying.

So, without further ado, here's what the Deadskins are saying over on their board.

1. On Carolina and the Redskin's History

Quote

Carolina has beaten us 4 straight times dating back to 2009. In fact, after starting the series 6-0, the Redskins have now dropped 5 of 6 to the Panthers. We have some exciting wins

...

However, the past few games haven't really felt too competitive. They pretty easily handled RGIII back in 2012 and, after an unfortunate penalty nullified a pick-6, rolled over us last year.

It's time to reclaim our dominance over our southern little brother.

Well looks like someone's still a bit angry over that game last year.

Panthers certainly dominated them that game, aside the rapid fire first quarter. The pick six taken back pretty much nullified a Redskin resurgence, and it was obvious they just gave up by the half. Panthers have been the better team recently against the Redskins lately, and I have no reason to assume that trend shouldn't continue this weekend.

Quote

1999: We fell behind 21-0 thanks to Tim Biakabutuka's 100+ yards and 3 TDs in the first quarter!!! We battled back and won a crazy one with a late Brett Conway FG.

Don't remind me of that game. We should've won. To this day I can't believe we gave it away.

2. On Panther Fairweather Fans

Quote

They were awful last year (I was in North Carolina).  This year it was really weird, the most diehard ones would come up to me and talk Redskins in the form of "We," and I would give them those Groucho Marx eyebrows....

Quote

Awful indeed. Like any fan base there are exceptions. However even the ones that seemed legit I couldn't hold a legitimate football conversation with because I would reference other players or games around the league and it would always turn back to "Luke Kuechly and Cam Newton". Its like their football database only held memory for 2015 Carolina Panthers and even then I could tell them more about their roster than they could.

That came off snobby, but I guess bitter is more appropriate, I just felt like they didn't "deserve" a 15-1 season as a fan-base.

Panthers have been relevant for a lot longer than most give credit for, unlike teams like the Seahawks who came out of nowhere as of recent. But, the more popular and outgoing team is indefinitely the 2015 Panthers, and the play from that team is what really grabbed us a hoard of bandwagons.

So I guess it's sort of fair. Then again when's the last time the Redskins' have been to a Superbowl?

3. On The Panthers Offensive Line

Quote

Bad news for him though, our DL will batter him and their running game at times, I **** you not Carolina's OL is worse than Philly's patched group.

Really fair. If you mix the Vikings current oline, Seattle's current oline, and poo all over it, you get the crippled 2016 Panthers line.

We're down to our 3rd string center, our pro bowl right guard is playing tackle, and Remmers is, well, Remmers. Not exactly a mix of a good oline going forward.

However, I was pleasantly surprised with our performance against the Chargers, abeit Bosa was injured. I expected Cam Newton to basically be a carcass by the end of that game at the very least though. But our run blocking is beyond terrible, and that's why we are where we are with our offensive play.

Don't be surprised to see them hold out. Then again, don't be surprised if they don't.

4. On Cams Scrambling Ability...?

Quote

Look for this to be another nail-biter game, with Cam scrambling to buy time, it could be a big problem for our LB group, so whoever the spy is, they better be ready and focused.

Well lucky for them this season, Newton is playing injured this year/trying to take care of himself more than normal, so no need to worry too much about him scrambling away.

But then again, the San Diego game showed a spark of the old running Newton, aside his inaccuracies in Shula's terrible system. His scramble from making a 20 yard sack to a 5 yard gain showed his old self that time (if anyone has a gif of that *wink* *wink* @MurkN hmu.)

I think Cam will show how much of a threat he is this game, overcome all the adversity, and show the world nationally why he was last year's MVP.

5. On What Luke Kuechly Looks Like

Score Prediction From Me

I say the Panthers come out strong. Josh Norman may get that one pick he so desperately wants, but he isn't returning it. Bradberry gets a pick to compensate, and has a better day than Norman. Kelvin Benjamin may or may not try and clear his fat name right now, but hopefully he comes out strong and gives Josh Norman some "training camp flashbacks."

Addison makes Kirk Cousins look like this and begs to get paid:

Our Dline will feast with Luke (most likely) back, and we shed together some hope for the playoffs.

Even if it's clear we're out of it by Sunday, I still predict us to have a win to prove to the nation we're not that pathetic excuse of a team that was shown last Sunday night in Seattle.

Panthers 28

Deadskins 15

I truly appreciate the write up OP.

Cousins can throw the ball and Jackson has a history of beating us deep. Redskins have more to play for, and they will be pumped playing on MNF at home.

Josh is going to be insanely fired up- maybe even too much. I could see that backfiring on him a bit. As much as I despise OBJ for what he did in that game, he did get into Josh's head a bit and kinda took Josh out of the game. I'd frustrate him by ignoring him and his side of the field. He'll get tired of that and try to make a big play- that's when you hit him with a double move or something.

We are weird on national TV. It seems like we are getting our asses handed to us: see Sea and Philly, Pitt (a few years ago). Or playing really, really close games: New England, TB (this year), Den (this year), Indy come to mind.

I think if it's a close game we win after blowing a 20+ plus lead, but if we lose I see us losing bad. We will all know after the first drive of each team what kind of game we are in for.

I've never met an intelligent, avid Redskins fan.  I've met intelligent ppl who pull for the redskins casually and I've met avid redskins fans.  They seem to be mutually exclusive.

Show me a diehard skins fan and I'll show you a bumbling, ham fisted r-tard with a penchant for 90's starter jackets, sweet relish and a faded mustard crusted Riggins jersey.

During RG3's impressive run in his rookie season, I happened to walk by a table in a restaurant where a redskin fan and his date (I guess) were sitting. He was basically gushing over Griffin's greatness on and off the field, saying things like "Cowboys fans might not like RG3, but they have to respect him."

She was just sitting there, staring blankly at the table, contemplating any possible way to escape. This is how it feels to interact with a Redskins fan.
