People were saying Bene would be better then Norman this offseason its in the offseason threads

dont know if some said he would be better but many were not too concerned with losing Josh because we had Bene...the debate was inside or outside... there would be no debate about the secondary that featured Josh,Bene ,and Bradberry...many talk about the front 7 making DBs better, well this group of Cb's would make Coleman and Boston All-Pro...

we are a team of back ups...

Cam

Olsen

Norwell

Turner

Short

Star

Johnson

Coleman

Oher (when healthy)

Luke

TD

Bradberry

Shaq

Klein (who would start on other teams)

Stewart

Benjamin

Kalil

Yup, all backups.

I'm not saying there aren't holes. Every team has holes, but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The ball just hasn't bounced our way this year when it did repeatedly last year.

It's not as simple as that, Bradberry isn't exactly asked to man up against the best WR each week. Bradberry is by far our best corner, and he is a pro bowl talent, but it's not exactly like he is single handedly shutting dudes down.

He is asked to as much as Norman was and Norman actually had deep help and  pass rush. Worley look how Bradberry should look and honestly Worley looks like Patrick Peterson his first year without the PR play.

To even suggest we are a team of backups shows how bright that guy is.  Just looking for an excuse to bitch

So what you're saying is it wasn't as simple as Josh was shutting guys down last year? What a revelation. Going by what's said on this board, Josh was our entire defense last year and carried the team and letting him go for some rookies was the worst move by any GM in leagueHistory

Also, Worley was burnt on the Tyrell Williams touchdown before halftime. This guy is not that good.

Tyrell Williams never scored yesterday

I know because he's on my fantasy team and I started him against our secondary

Both him and Boston failed to make a play on a deep pass though, but he did not score.

How good are these two young bucks playing right now? I'm pretty impressed.

Since Bradberry came back from the turf toe injury, our secondary has looked pretty damn good.

Week 9: LA

top receiver, Kenny Britt 4 rec 49 yds 1td

Week 10: KC

top reciever, Tyreke Hill 10 rec 89 yds (did not play as good a game as the stats show)

Week 11: NO

top reciever, Brandin Cooks 7 rec 42 yds (first match 7 rec 173 yds 1td)

Week 12: OAK

top receiver, Amari Cooper 4 rec 22 yds

Michael Crabtree 8 rec 110 yds (a 49 yd catch on AJ Klein)

Week 13: SEA

top reciever, Doug Baldwin 7 rec 65 yds

Week 14: SD

top receiver, Tyrell Williams 2 rec 68 yds

other than Tyreke Hill, all the recievers mentioned above are top 25 in receiving yards currently. And, top 23 if you take out TEs.

Are these two rookies playing better or is it because of our DLine? I thought that there were plenty of times today that Rivers had no where to throw the ball to even with good blocking up front.

If we could upgrade Tre Boston next season I think it'll be fun to watch.

Will be tested in these last three games with high power offense.

100% agree.  Both of them.  Not many rookie DBs do well their first season. We threw them to the fire from day one.  They have sucked at times but they have also shown some talents and as they become veterans.  They'll be fine.  I don't believe CB will be a position we will look for in April.   I would love to see a Safety though.

I saw where someone thought we should fire Wilks.  That is insane.  The guy is one of the best DB coaches in the league.  These rookies are learning but part of their success is coaching.  They'll continue to grow as long as Wilks stays.
