Cam Newton is a tank

But did I say that or...???

We went into this season with the same offensive line that won 17 of 19 games and helped generate the number one offense in the league last year plus an experienced veteran center and a promising right tackle as backups. Yet listening to people talk you'd think we went in with a group of scrubs.

There's not a team in the league that could absorb as many injuries as we've taken on the line and still be looking good. Hell, we lost our starting left tackle after what, week three? If you think other teams have stellar backup plans for that, think again.

Also worth noting that the offense has run the majority of its plays this season in max protect. Why do that if you're not trying to keep your quarterback up right?

Not to mention that probably more than any other group on the field except maybe secondary, offensive line plays as a unit. When that unit starts getting shuffled around some bad things tend to happen.

But hey, feel free to continue thinking the team that sunk a hundred million into their franchise QB and pinned their Super Bowl hopes to his play doesn't give a s--t if he gets hurt. Heck, it's only money and people's jobs on the line, right?

There are definitely problems on this team, but the notion that they don't care about protecting Newton is just stupid.

All of this is nice and all, but I'm in no mood to compromise today. They don't protect him (and this goes beyond the field) like they should and this season showed they don't care much. Our offensive line hasn't been the greatest ever. My opinion, final. Thanks. :-)

Because other teams have Pro Bowl level talent at their third and fourth string?

If you believe that, check out another team's depth chart sometime.

You keep on pointing to depth but our starting tackles aren't  even league standard.

2015 - had the most max protection of any OL that season and faced the weakst  pass rush schedule BTW they got exposed by ATL & Denver and now every team in the league is exploiting every game.

If you wanna talk off the field, that's another story. The tie thing was stupid, and I'm not a big fan of Rivera saying he would "take the shot" too.

But on the field, we have one offensive lineman playing in the same position he started the year in...one.

Even going max protect all the time, you're just not going to get the same results like that.

Yep. You can only be as good as the options you have. Especially limited options.
