Just as a point of reference Dwill is averaging 3.7 YPC this year, Stewart 3.8 YPC.

He has been battling injury and started the season 26 carries for 143, the 32 for 94 and he stopped getting touches. Its not like he has had plenty opportunities. Also, I was referring to last year. 200 carries 907 yds avg 4.5. Regardless still better oline then ours and look what Bell is doing.

My guess is no, unless he restructures.  Too big of a cap hit for a running back that is on the downside of his career.  We will either sign someone, or draft a back.

Ding, ding, ding!

Now we have our answer, there was little chance Stewart would return at his 2017 cap figure. Gettleman did his due diligence and Stewart did what he had to do. Hopefully Stewart will be productive until he's gone and we also must add to the RB core either thru the draft or June 1 Free Agency cuts.
