Speed Kills

the tall Wr thing was dumb, if your qb has problems throwing high, the fix is to get him to work on his mechanics, not draft 6'5 guys. Kb, Funchess, should be redzone nightmares but can't run routes correctly or use there stature to there advantage.

we need shifty/quick and fast guys who can catch, of course easier said then done but that and a #2 Te seem to be the missing piece for the receiving core.

Do not want Kamara or McCaffrey. I don't consider them every down backs. Don't have the bulk.

If we made the change to running back by committee like some other teams, then these two individuals would be great weapons for this team. We've had those power backs and they get it done, but why not welcome an offensive change.

Watching TNF and can't help but feel like poo thinking about how these two mediocre teams are a combined 19-5 and most likely playoff bound. Isn't it sickening watching guys like Tyreek Hill and Taylor Gabriel make game changing, hell, season changing plays week after week? How do scrubs like Colin Jones and Brenton Bersin continue to get jerseys with a guy as fast as Damiere Byrd on the squad? How long is this staff going to continue to suppress young talent with potential?

Two words: OFFENSIVE LINE.

DING DING DING DING!!!!!!!!!!!! WINNER.

it is not no damn speed. Oakland drafted fast guys after fast guys. They're finally good for once and without any reall fast guys. Cooper isn't lighting fast. Dumb thread.

Have you not been watching games lately. Newton is on a pace to complete 54% of his passes. He was very inaccurate against Seattle just last Sunday. He was pretty bad against Oakland the week before. He has been pretty bad this year even when given time. He is like Ginn. They can both make hard plays look easy and then miss easy plays all together.

Have you not been watching games lately? Seems to me Cam is sitting in the pocket getting Peter rolled while our #1 receiver can't get to his route faster than the TE running the same route on the other side of the field.

Except for drops it sure does. And it gives Newton credit for completions where the receiver made a great play on an inaccurate ball.

Depends on the system. Most qbs complete a ton of 7 yard passes now.

We run an old school system. Most of our passes are mid to deep range passes which hurt the comp. pct. It's also the reason why Andrew Luck has a career comp. pct. under 60.

Really? Because we saw this coaching staff sit J-No for the better part of a year.

If you had been keeping up with the conversation over the past several years you would know Norman didn't play because he was undisciplined and didn't play where he was supposed and free lanced too much. This defense is very accountable on every play and he wasn't where he needed to be so he sat until he was ready to play Panthers ball not Norman ball. Similar issues kept Ealy on the sidelines as well.

That is true and is totally related to accuracy. The longer the pass the harder it is to be accurate. Our system is not old school it is a vertical passing system whereas a WCO system for example is horizontal passing.

Cam for what it is worth isn't that accurate on short passes either. It isn't the distance of the pass so much as using good mechanics which Can has had to work on his whole career and he still struggled with at times.

If you go to games you can see the whole pattern develop and you can see many times where Cam misses even seeing wide open guys in the flats. Where last year he was seeing the whole field and going through his progressions, this year he is again forcing it to Benjamin or Olsen. Because of the pressure and lack of confidence in the O line he is not doing what he did last year and it shows. It is clearly not all his fault for sure as he has little confidence in his protection and if he scrambles it is open season to head shot him. But it is also clear he still holds the ball trying to make a play ignoring the open man or throwing the ball away. He has regressed as has the whole team. It isn't one person's fault but a combination of several factors.

I really enjoyed watching Byrd in the preseason, particularly returning punts.  If Ginn is going to do nothing but fair catch punts, why not put Byrd back there.  Atleast now, with the season over, you need to find out waht these guys have.  We know what Ginn brings to the table, let's see what Byrd can do in a real game.

The coaches definitely have bad judgement in all aspects...when you do wide receiver screens with Cotchery and tolbert....reverses with Cotchery . ..keep tolbert and remmers but don't play Payne or wegher to see if a spark can be made..Payne may have fumbled once had a bad handoff but that comes because he is not use to playing whats tolbert excuse...You create a 53 roster and scared to activate players you chose to keep not everyone is going to be good every game ..football is a game of match ups just like every other sport..you can't expect every player will perform the same way everytime put you let your known commodities play to force coverage..the other receivers are suppose to pick up the slack.. Carolina lacks a true number 1.kb is not a number he lacks the speed and ability  to create separation...Ginn is not either because teams are willing to gamble with his stone hands..until they find a true weapon receiver the team will always be under performing...Coaching does not have good judgement period. How is it that every team has a true number 1 and we are still trying to figure it out...Ron been here 6yrs.
