Stanford star RB Christian McCaffrey declares for NFL Draft

I'm trying to figure out the players that our FO will seem to have an infatuation with that is super divisive on here (a la Henry, Shaq, etc.); McCaffery is one of them lol.

I feel late season can be a fairly accurate time to look at prospects because you're still seeing them play and aware of their impact on their respective teams.  The draft build up distorts a ton.  My early guess--We end up with Jabrill, Fournette, or John Ross.

I figure we'll have a pretty good idea of who we're drafting. There was tons of buzz around both Shaq and Butler leading up to those picks. This front office doesn't seem to do a very good job of playing these things close to their chest, but since we're picking guys well above where they're graded by lots of other teams, it doesn't really matter.

Visits are all we have to go by but other than that they don't say a word.

Yet, there was plenty of talk by insiders about the Panthers loving Shaq and Butler leading up to the drafts. Those pick announcements were mere formalities for the people who were paying attention. Obviously, there's no official statements, but it's pretty clear leaks are getting out.

Agents advertise visits and interest because it is in their clients best interest.

It seemed like things were kept under tighter wraps when it was Hurney. Other than the Cam pick, it always seemed like there was quite a bit of mystery as to exactly who we'd go with. These past two drafts, people who were paying attention knew who are pick was gonna be as soon as we were on the clock.

Possibly but it seems like Twitter has expanded exponentially in being the source of info. In the end it doesn't really matter. I can't figure out the logic of a team picking to mess with another team over for their own best interest.

Yep.  Social Media makes everything easier to find out these days. It would have been the same if it had been around for hurney
