Weekend guide to a higher draft pick. (Week 14)

I do not advocate tanking.  I will be cheering for the Panthers to whoop some Charger ass this Sunday.  However.  If you were cheering for the Panthers to improve their current draft position, these are the games in order of how much they directly affect our draft position.

Keep in mind, tie-breakers in the draft are determined by a teams strength of schedule.  The worse your SOS, the higher your pick.  Therefor, we want to cheer against any team we have played.  Especially division opponents because we play them twice, which I am sure is easy for many of you.

Vikings v. Jaguars - Would give the Jags 3 wins.  Lowers our SOS.  Big impact.

Rams v. Falcons - We are currently tied with the rams at 4 wins.  There win also lowers our SOS as we play the Falcons twice.

Bears v. Lions - Gives the Bears 4 wins.

Jets v. 49ers - While both teams have worse records, the Jets winning lowers our SOS and we are more likely to overtake the 3-9 Jets than the 1-11 49ers.

Redskins v. Eagles - Eagles have 5 wins and them beating the redskins lowers our SOS

Broncos v. Titans - Titans have 6 wins and them beating the Broncos lowers our SOS

Seahawks v. Greenbay - Packers have only 6 wins.  There winning lowers our SOS

Steelers v. Bills - Bills are 6-6 and could lose enough games to challenge our draft order

Saints v. Bucs - Saints have only 5 wins. No SOS affect

Cardinals v. Dolphins - While the cardinals winning would increase our SOS, they have 5 wins.

Bengals v. Browns - The Bengals are currently 4-7-1 and picking directly after us.  Their loss could give us cushion for a victory or two.  It is almost mathematically impossible for the Browns win 4 straight.

Houston v. Indy - This is a pickem.  Both teams are 6-6.  No affect on our SOS

Oakland vs KC - Does not matter in the slightest

Dallas v. Giants - Does not matter in the slightest.

Strongly disagree on the Browns/Bengals.  The Bengals winning gives us cushion in case we "win".

I'm 50/50 on the Vikings winning at this point to create more "cushion".  At worst it's a big silver lining if they do win.  I just don't see us "overtaking" the Jaguars.

Pulling for Houston-fug Luck

I don't see us overtaking the Bears.  Matt Barkley was the winning QB last week.  The Lions are by far the Panther fan choice to win the NFC, and could ruin things for the Seahawks, Falcons, Cowboys, and the rest.  I'm pulling for them.

Agree on the rest.

You are right.  I adjusted the Bengals v. Browns outcome.

The Vikings currently have a 2 game lead on us.  I think we will be alright.  The Jags have a higher SOS than us.  We would just have to tie them.  They play the Vikings, Texans, Colts, and Titans.  They could surely put together 2 wins with that schedule.

We are one game up on the Bears.  They are getting Jeffrey back from suspension next week.  They play the Lions, Packers, Redskins, Vikings.  A tough stretch, but not impossible that they could pull one or two out.
