I'm cool with a 4 win season at this point.

And that's OK, that's how you do it. For all the bad things Jerry Jones has done as cowboys owner and GM, he has really assembled a great team capable of sustainable success in the NFL. He did it by building the OL first, multiple years of high round OL picks while other teams made splashy/sexy skilled position picks. Now, the "build from the inside out" strategy is paying off...Dallas has a run game that is dominate.

Jerry got out of his own way and started letting other people make the personnel decisions. He wanted Johnny Football so bad in 2014 he could hardly stand it, but he bit his tongue and let the football people take Zack Martin.

I don't see an Offensive Coordinator in the draft.  What good does it do to draft offensive weapons when the current OC does not even know how to  draw up a play that does not include handing off the ball to stewart, Read option with Cam or a long developing play down the field? You have Benjamin, Funchess, Olsen, Stewart and Cam Newton as your QB...don't tell me you can't think of any other ways to produce. I ain't even talking about Ginn and Fozzy who do change the games tempo. I mean come on. You have to be more creative, you're getting paid to do this. Also you're getting help from an offensive lines coach...Get your poo together or get the fug out. At this point I'd want Chud back..

I wanted nothing but oline drafted by us. The oline problems are ridiculous . We dont need a rb. If we had any kind of an oline, stew would be feasting.

I hope Cam Robinson declares for the draft. LT for alabama...amazing LT

If the right one was there, sure.  But Cam Robinson ain't it.  Not in the top 10.  Not by us.  Here is Derek Barnett vs Robinson https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000722960/article/grading-the-big-5-week-7-grade-for-tennessee-de-derek-barnett%3FnetworkId%3D4595%26site%3D.news%26zone%3Dstory%26zoneUrl%3Durl%3Dstory%26zoneKeys%3Ds1%3Dstory%26env%3D%26pageKeyValues%3Dprtnr%3Dcollege-football%26p.ct%3DCFB%2B24%2F7%26p.adsm%3Dfalse%26p.tcm%3D%23ffffff%26p.bgc1m%3D%23000000%26sr%3Damp?client=safari

Barnett also set Reggie White's school record for sacks (29 of which game against SEC competition), is stout against the run, and unlike Robinson, is clean off the field.  No comparison if we have the choice at a position of equal need.

Amazing physical specimen, mediocre football player. His pass protection in particular is a hot mess. Then, throw in the arrest from last offseason and it's not looking good. Possession of a stolen weapons and narcotics possession? Not good. NFL teams will really look into that one despite the fact that a small town DA swept it under the rug to avoid derailing the hometown hero.

Chicago and San Fransisco. I would like that a lot pretty much 2 free wins. Also we wouldn't have to play Seattle finally

We play in Chicago regardless of record.  Instead we'd get NFC East at home (Philly or Washington) and NFC West away (SF or Rams)   We play AFC East and NFC North next year.

As it stands now we play 5, of the 13, teams with winning records (TB, ATL, Miami, @NE, @Detroit)(unless we get Wash.) and play 3 teams (SF, Chicago, NYJ) that will have a higher draft pick than us. (*Titans get the Rams pick if we don't get SF) so there is high chance you will see us play against, that player you wanted us to draft, and in their city.

This may be the best draft class we've seen in the last decade. Can you imagine this kid with Cam in the backfield, and Benji on the outside? Hit in the 2nd and 3rd round on some Offensive linemen, and you may be looking at a more dynamic version of what the Cowboys are doing this season with a better defense.

I'd love Fournette. He'd give CAR a legit home run threat at RB since Stewart is getting older and CAP hadn't stepped up to be the next man up at RB.

However, I'd look into DE. Jonathan Allen would be my pick. Addison and Johnson are in their 30s and defense wins championships. Could always get OL and Dalvin Cook later.

Yet another reason to lose-playing the 49ers instead of the Rams and their cheap shot ass in a century old stadium that may be shared by 3 teams next fall.

Nothing like watching a big powerful back with speed, lined up in pro formations that allow him to gain some momentum toward the line of scrimmage. (Also see Dallas)

Sad that our slow developing read option offense has neutered the strong suits of our very own J Stew.

If we had Fournette, I'd be afraid he would be misused just like Stewart...forced to break tackles with no forward momentum in the backfield.

If we dump Shula, then I'm all for Fournette...if not...no need to waste the pick.

Fournette is the best RB prospect since Adrian Peterson. Elliott is having a tremendous rookie year, but he's also doing it behind the best OL in the NFL since the '90s Cowboys' OLs.  IMO, Fournette > Elliott as a prospect.

Fournette is NOT on the same level and it ain't even close.

NFL scouts graded Elliott out higher than any RB since AP for a reason. He was the most complete back tomenter the league in 10 years. There isn't anything on the football field that Elliott didn't do at a near elite level. Now that Fournette has declared people will look to inflate his stock. Don't get me wrong he's good but he pales compared to Elliott.

To wit:

Elliott is a 3 down back who is a weapon out of the backfield.

Elliott is fantastic in blocking/blitz protection. In fact he was so good that OSU often offset him and had him work around the qb to pick up blitzers. Blocking is one of the most important things that college backs have to learn when they jump to the league. If you can't block you'll get your qb killed. Either thwt or they'll sub you out on passing downs.

One of the reasons why teams hesitate to blitz Prescott is because Elliott is suck a good blocker. Notmally when you blutz you expect to win on the back. Elliott just stones guys back there and gives Prescott time to go through progressions.

Elliott is far more shifty as a runner. He can start, stop, and turn on a dime. Fournette may be bigger but if you get penetration, and he can't run downhill, he loses his power running sidewaysand doesn't have the ability to jump, cut, and slash ino a new hole. Elliott also has some wiggle in the open field. Fournette doesn't have that wiggle. He's more like DeMarco Murray.

Durability. Its an issue with Fournette. Elliott was a bell cow at Ohio State where he never missed a game due to injury. He hasn' t missed one with Dallas either.

In sum Fournette is far closer to Gurley coming out than he is to Elliott. FWIW, I liked Gurley.
