Ron is not getting fired

he not going to get fired but someone is going to have to fall on this sword....it will most likely be Shula, even though he does not share all of the blame.

After last night there is plenty of blame to go around. Players loafing around, coaches lacking sense of urgency, poor tackling, etc. Two positive things though, the young DBs look legit and our oline played a hell of a lot better than expected.

I don't think Rivera gets fired and I'm not even sure that's the right move at this point, but something must change and I think (hope) Shula will be gone. Like Gantt said the other day, I would make Norv tell me no at least once. Can you even imagine what Cam could do in the hands of a capable OC?

They do take in the concession money, but Charlotte will sell seats for fans of other teams always, so it's not a big concern.

With our home schedule next year selling out BofA will not be an issue. Our non-NFCS home opponents are the Packers, Bills, Vikings, Dolphins, and NFCE last place finisher. Every single one of those teams will fill our joint with opposing fans so Jerry's pockets are good AND we get to keep our bogus consecutive sellout streak alive.

I just don't see Jerry paying Ron not to be here even if he loses this team.

Agree ... it won't happen.  If I recall correctly, we hung on to another coach because he still had $$ left on his contract.  That doesn't fit into JR's money graph.

They won't have a problem firing a HC, if they deem it necessary.  They cut Dom Capers loose within a couple years of the huge extension he got.  Matter of fact, they were still paying him the whole time he was the DC down in Jacksonville.  It wasn't until he signed as the Texans HC, that we were off the hook.

I want you all to take a deep breath and ask yourselfs. Did Shaun Payton get fired the last 3 seasons, is anyone even seriously considering Bruce getting fired, McCarthy or any of the other teams that do good and sucked this year. Did the lions fire their head coach? Normality and continuity is the key.

Capers got something like a ten year extension and was fired just a few years into it.

According to one of our beat writers (I forget which one; maybe Voth) they didn't fire John Fox in part because he convinced them that he could turn it around.

But then after being overridden on some draft decisions and other things,  he basically mailed in his final season.

Losing teams don't make money.

I do believe Gettleman has the authority to fire Rivera if he wants to. Said it before: if he can cut Steve Smith, he can fire Ron Rivera.

My question is whether or not he's willing to do so.

Steve Smith was the definition of an old, once great antagonist in Gettleman's ol' school world. He is the antithesis of Rivera.

--------------

Rivera, Cam, Benjamin, and Gettleman aren't going anywhere, folks. All of them will bounce back next year (provided that Gettleman modifies his magic).
