I don't believe he'll be retained to save money.

I believe he'll be retained because Gettleman won't fire him.

Maybe he'll think it isn't deserved, or maybe he just doesn't want to fire direct reporting employees (he certainly hasn't so far).

I'm of the belief that Rivera absolutely should be fired (for much larger reasons than what happened tonight) but I'm not ready to buy that it'll happen.
