My fear too. But, if this level of play continues and he can't get this locker room back, he very well may be done. Especially if the players who have JR's ear turn on him. Gettleman could use a good scapegoat himself.

I want this team to win a SB and try for a dynasty. I will watch on game day and hope for the best, but I am a realist.

I am not going to be a good soldier and go down with the ship when I see the ship heading directly at an iceberg. Sorry, if the captain says he knows what he is doing, I can still do the math to know the ship is going to hit the ice berg unless a miracle happens that defies physics.

I will always be a fan that wants a champion, but I will not support anything I see as a step back.

If you want to step back for the future of the team, then just do an all out rebuild imo.

Why was there not a viable veteran at CB? Not a single viable veteran.

Bitching about Gettleman because of bad starters is one thing. At least we can debate the merits of that when talking football. 

But backups now?

There are only 53 roster spots on a team, with less than that active on game day. This team has been decimated by injuries. How good of players do you think there are out there to play as backups. If they are good enough to start, they get paid, and they start. If they are a backup, it's because by definition they aren't good enough to start. 

Sorry Gettleman doesn't have a Deloreon or a most excellent time traveling phone booth to go back in time and get a prime Polomalu or prime Ed Reed to play backup safety for us just in case our current starter got hurt.
