Official Panthers at Seahawks Gameday thread....

Welp, here it is. For better or worse.

Any predictions? The Panthers barely squeaked out a win last year. I don't see how they could win this year against that defense. Looks like chilly and rainy in Seattle today. Might help the Panthers a bit who have the better run game.

well I was extremely close on my prediction last week.  I see this as one of the ugliest games you will ever witness.  Expect to see alot from the defense and stewart today.  To stay mathematically in it so to speak, its a must win and I think Rivera wants this one. 23-21 Panthers

I feel like last week's game was a back breaker. Played their hearts out and had a chance to beat the top seed in the Afc at their place but Rivera snatched it away..  Not sure what to expect with this game but I think it'll be pretty clear within the first five minutes

Honestly, I like this matchup: Two crap olines duking it out seeing which one is worse.

In all honesty, if you look at last week, we began working magic with our patchwork o-line in the 3rd quarter, with that practice squad center starting.

We might not be as bad off as the seahawks oline this game

This will come out to who can get the most sacks this game as the winner. Doesn't matter how inept/strong the secondary is, with a nasty front that stuff doesn't matter.

Whoever has the Seahawks or Panthers defense starting in fantasy will be rewarded greatly.

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
