Steph wont rule out signing with the Hornets next season.

Once you get a ring, it's really just about making money and having fun/being where you want to be. Lebron left Miami and went home, Steph might do something similar.

Unless you think you can win a bunch of rings.

Common misconception about Lebron "going home". He left Cleveland to go to a Miami super team collaboration with his buddies and then left that sinking ship to go to a Cleveland team that had the top pick most of the time he was gone.

Steph could very well "go home" to Charlotte, and I would give him credit that if he decided to do that, it would be a true homecoming and not a Lebron style homecoming.

That being said, I think a lot will depend on what happens in the post season this year.

If golden state wins this year he stays put. Them getting Durant really opened the door I think though.   Steph is second fiddle now which I think he's fine with as long as he wins.  They lose in the finals again and he probably  comes to Charlotte. He is going to make more money than he can ever spend in his lif regardless. Cali tax and San fran cost of living it probably evens out anyway.   He would need to bring a big time 4 or 5 with him though because I don't think he,  kemba and nic could get it done.

People saying we would have to dump kemba are wrong.  They would be roughly the same size back court as derozan and Lowry.

I think Curry is different than the normal NBA star.   He's already made a ton of money, and he lives in Charlotte, grew up here, and has solid roots.    He's still very much connected to this city.  He's already won a ring, so that pressure is off.   I would very much say it wasn't possible, if it was someone other than Curry.   We'll have to see, but I think there is at least a chance.

Steph Curry lives in Walnut Creek.

So, and we can do the same.  We'll have extra cap room.  And can trade Kemba.  Thread doesn't need to be closed.

Steph Curry can only sign for max money with the Warriors. I think he would have to leave like $50MM or something like that to sign somewhere else.

Only way he signs with Charlotte from a money perspective is if MJ buys out the remainder of his UA contract and pays all associated legal fees, and then champions Nike to give Steph a $400MM Nike contract to offset.
