- Ifedi has been up and down, like any rookie OL really.  He's been moved to guard since being drafted.  He had a miserable game last week, but a lot of that could be the result of being down Justin Britt who shockingly became a really good center this offseason.  If you don't know who Justin Britt is, he was the turnstile at RT in 2014 and LG in 2015.

- Not sure if adapted is the right word, more like survival.  Wilson was all sorts of banged up the first two months of the year. They were without Thomas Rawls for about 8 weeks, and he himself was recovering from an injury.  Christine Michael was meh.  So with no running game, Wilson began to really focus on quick passing from the pistol/shotgun.  One small blessing from his injuries and our rollercoaster OL is that he's become a much more dangerous QB from the pocket now.  As far as the Bucs, just a typical "catch them at the right time" type game.  We came into Sunday's game down Earl Thomas, Michael Bennett, DeShawn Shead (our starting CB), Justin Britt.. and that was on top of the other injuries to Prosise, Mike Morgan (Bruce Irvin's replacement), etc.  Couple those issues with the cross country trip and a very hungry and growingly confident Bucs team and it just spelled doom from the start.  Wilson played his worst game of his career and the OL did too.  It was pretty terrible football.

- I would venture to say low scoring would be the more likely result here.. just because of how these two teams always seem to play each other.  I am curious how our DL will be against your battered OL with Michael Bennett returning Sunday.  Of course the Seahawks OL is always an adventure.  They made the Bucs DL look like they had 4 Reggie Whites circa 1996.

- Coaching staff?  Well.. I LOVE Pete Carroll (IMO one of the best coaches in football).  Darrell Bevell and Tom Cable make me want to drop kick a kitten though. Kris Richard, he's improved a great deal from his first year and has a very nice grasp about when to dial up a blitz.. but I do think there is still a step down from when Dan Quinn was DC.

Nice reply. Sounds reasonable.

Our coaching staff is far too conservative. Rivera is just not the same riverboat Ron anymore after his payday, and he is making far too many conservative choices, and is just mello all around now, instead of the fiery personality that he had a long time ago. He doesn't know how to manage the clock well, and our fourth quarter meltdowns are far too frequent.

McDermott is really the one real bright spot on the team. Fantastic DC, hope he stays.

Shula. Cam bailed him out last year when nearly most of his plays didn't work. This year Shula doesn't have that luxury. He's a terrible playcaller during the flow of the game, and loves his "long developing" plays for Cam behind swiss cheese.

I also am curious what you think of our coaching staff.

I liked McDermott a lot when he was in Philly.  Very solid DC.  Shula and Bevell may actually be brothers.  Both can be geniuses in play-calling and both can make you scream obscenities.

Rivera, you know I think he's really grown as a coach.  His first few years he looked clueless, but he's really improved as time as gone on.  I don't know how much struggles you can pin on the coaching staff this season as injuries hit you guys hard and that Super Bowl losing hangover is real, as I discovered the year after SB40 and last season.

I really think you guys are poised for a very good bounceback season next year, if you are unable to turn it around this season.  The softer schedule + higher draft picks + FA cap room + getting guys back from injury + the spark of a disappointing season = Carolina is not going to be down very long.

Fair. I'm reluctant on Rivera, but then again it's mainly knee jerk reactions personally on that side, considering our 4th quarter meltdowns and conservative play-style, but I do agree he's grown.

Injuries definitely hit us hard, though many idiots in Panther nation believes otherwise. Personally, I feel we were still in so many games even with injuries, but not having a healthy oline since week 3 does say something to Cam's regression.

Go fug yourself @Beast Mode, damn Seahawks fan :-)

With that out of the way, welcome back - always appreciate your insights and perspective. Should be an interesting strength vs. strength on Sunday between the run games and run defenses if Carolina can keep pace. Rawls looked damn good his first game back but got bottled up by Tampa. Was Britt's absence that damaging or did the Bucs just step up?

I think it's gonna come down to Carolina not having an answer for Russel's magic BS that he inevitably pulls every game. As obnoxious as he is as an opponent there's no denying the plays that he always seems to make against us.

every year the CAR-SEA game is hard fought and close

don't think that will be the case this year

I actually consider the opposite. The defense will fight hard, the offenses will be brown level stagnant.

It'll be a close, low scoring game with two top tier defenses duking it out. Expect our front to get to Russell often and fast. Same with Seattle's defense.

Our games are usually very physical and very competitive, but honestly I think we are gonna get blown out. I felt better about our chances at 7-8-1 against you guys in the playoffs than I do this week. Hope I'm wrong.

Both teams were much better then. The team playing Seattle in the playoffs this year wasn't the same as the one that went 3-8-1 to start the year. We actually had a pretty good shot, and if Star was healthy I think we would've pulled it off--we wouldn't have gone down as much and could stick to our gameplan without having to have Cam force throws to Dickson while playing catchup. Honestly think this could be a similar game, resulting in us losing a close one.

Lucky for you guys half our players are either on IR or will be out this week otherwise maybe we'd have a competitive game. Didn't watch that Tampa game last week but seeing the box scores made me think what the hell happened to you guys. I know your OL sucks (can't be much worse than our current group though...) but even still how does the offense manage 3 points on Tampa's D? I think neither of our teams right now would have a shot against the Cowboys underrated and overperforming D, and their dominant o-line, run game and amazing rookie QB play and good wide receivers so I don't think this game will matter much in the long run. You guys likely get the win and the 2nd seed, we improve our draft position and neither team wins it all this year.

Cowboys give up 315 yards per game.  Their defense is far from underrated and overperforming.  They suck, their offense is just that damn good.

How many times do you have to be wrong before you finally use logic?
