Hi Panther Nation!

Looks like Seahawks-Panthers week is back again!  Looking forward to another hard fought (and hopefully injury free since both teams have had some bad luck in that department)  game by both sides.

Admittedly haven't watched a whole lot of Carolina this season aside from a couple of games.  Amazed you guys have regressed this year the way you have.  Also slightly worried as high draft picks and cap room equals a dangerous Panthers team in 2017 and beyond..  BUT 2017 doesn't matter as I fully expect the Panthers to throw everything they have left against us.  Sherman running his mouth probably doesn't help matters either.

Good luck Sunday and as always I can answer any questions about the Seahawks this season.  If you care at all.  Most probably don't.  Ha.

I doubt the Panthers have much fight left in them at this point.  Injuries and bad luck/karma has bit us on the ass hard this season.  But let's hope it's a competitive game from us at least and no more injuries on either side.

And in the spirit of gamesmanship, fug the Seachickens.

If karma had anything to do with sports the Patriots would never have won another game after Spygate.

I'll answer some stuff about the Panthers:

Recently, pass rush has been alive. However, our DEs took a noticable hit when Addison was injured, as he's our best RDE pass rusher, with 6.5 sacks (I think) after the bye. Charles Johnson is getting back in form though, and our DTs are still monstrous. Expect a lot of sacks on defense as we feast. Run defense top 3 of the NFL.

Our secondary; cornerbacks are fantastic. Believe it or not Worley and Bradberry held down crabtree and cooper real well; worley held crabtree to 33 yarda, bradberry holds down his man well, and is already rated a top 25 cb and the best cb rookie from his class, according to PFF.

Klein is not that good at pass protection, but is a faster but not as smart version of Luke at everything else. Our safeties are susceptible to boneheaded plays though, as coaches put Kurt at SS way too much, not his natural position.

Panthers oline has one starter remaining. Our pro bowl guard is our right tackle. our second string RT (because Daryl Williams imo is far superior to remmers) is our LT. Our center is a practice squad player. Pretty much on seahawk level of bad right now.

Shula schemes around the assumption Cam has "time" for these long developing plays, reason why we play like JAGS. Our OC is terrible. Can't adapt.

WRs: few can get separation, but our big receivers big body when necessary. Catching issues are still present though.

5/7 losses were by a field goal or less. 5/7 had good leads in the 4th quarter. Panthers can't seem to close out this year.

That's some of it.

Questions I have:

-How is your rookie OT doing? I heard rumors the Panthers took the DT seattle wanted. I want to know how that's going.

-How has your coaching staff adapted to your oline issues, and what really caused you to lose to the Bucs?

-I expect a low scoring game from both sides, wondering what you think.

-Coaching staff: hate them or love them?

Man what happened to y'alls run game? Was Marshawn just that integral to your offense?

Marshawn was the only one who could run through all the defenders our swiss cheese OL let on through.  Also didn't help that Wilson, Rawls and our rookie CJ Prosise were banged up pretty good for most of the year (in the case of Prosise, he's again recovering from an injury).

Lucky for you guys half our players are either on IR or will be out this week otherwise maybe we'd have a competitive game. Didn't watch that Tampa game last week but seeing the box scores made me think what the hell happened to you guys. I know your OL sucks (can't be much worse than our current group though...) but even still how does the offense manage 3 points on Tampa's D? I think neither of our teams right now would have a shot against the Cowboys underrated and overperforming D, and their dominant o-line, run game and amazing rookie QB play and good wide receivers so I don't think this game will matter much in the long run. You guys likely get the win and the 2nd seed, we improve our draft position and neither team wins it all this year.

I'm hoping for an enjoyable game.  I know we can count on a few "prayers" from Wilson connecting in backbreaking fashion...

I think the Panthers the past few years have really been geeked up to play the Seahawks.  I'd honestly toss the records and everything out.  Seattle was our barometer for a few years. Even though we're down this year, I bet the coaches are talking about relevance again.  Beating Seattle won't save our less than scant playoff hopes, but it will be a big time moral victory for us.

Here's to no injuries this game.  Good hard football, and hopefully a Panthers' upset to use a gif party foder =)

- Ifedi has been up and down, like any rookie OL really.  He's been moved to guard since being drafted.  He had a miserable game last week, but a lot of that could be the result of being down Justin Britt who shockingly became a really good center this offseason.  If you don't know who Justin Britt is, he was the turnstile at RT in 2014 and LG in 2015.

- Not sure if adapted is the right word, more like survival.  Wilson was all sorts of banged up the first two months of the year. They were without Thomas Rawls for about 8 weeks, and he himself was recovering from an injury.  Christine Michael was meh.  So with no running game, Wilson began to really focus on quick passing from the pistol/shotgun.  One small blessing from his injuries and our rollercoaster OL is that he's become a much more dangerous QB from the pocket now.  As far as the Bucs, just a typical "catch them at the right time" type game.  We came into Sunday's game down Earl Thomas, Michael Bennett, DeShawn Shead (our starting CB), Justin Britt.. and that was on top of the other injuries to Prosise, Mike Morgan (Bruce Irvin's replacement), etc.  Couple those issues with the cross country trip and a very hungry and growingly confident Bucs team and it just spelled doom from the start.  Wilson played his worst game of his career and the OL did too.  It was pretty terrible football.

- I would venture to say low scoring would be the more likely result here.. just because of how these two teams always seem to play each other.  I am curious how our DL will be against your battered OL with Michael Bennett returning Sunday.  Of course the Seahawks OL is always an adventure.  They made the Bucs DL look like they had 4 Reggie Whites circa 1996.

- Coaching staff?  Well.. I LOVE Pete Carroll (IMO one of the best coaches in football).  Darrell Bevell and Tom Cable make me want to drop kick a kitten though. Kris Richard, he's improved a great deal from his first year and has a very nice grasp about when to dial up a blitz.. but I do think there is still a step down from when Dan Quinn was DC.

Not an unfair assessment by any stretch.  As I alluded to in my previous post, the Bucs really just caught us at the perfect time.  If we were full strength going into that game?  We win fairly easily IMO.  For some reason the Seahawks always have a clunker right before the home stretch into the postseason.  But yeah, I would be lying if I didn't say the OL gives me a lot of concern.  When they are playing decent, this team looks to be one of the best in football, but when they are not.. good lord it is badddd.

The Cowboys IMO are a paper tiger though.  I really do believe the Seahawks or the Giants will dispose of them in January but we shall see.  Dak and Zeke are fun, but the playoffs are a whole different animal.  Dallas has virtually no pass rush right now too, and that's not exactly a good recipe for January.  We'll see though.

Don't think the game will be very competitive, our o-line looks like aliens took our starters and gave us back some jv guys.. Hawks defense should feast.

Defense has improved, corners are getting comfy in their roles but we still give up big plays thanks to our safeties. Hawks run game might not do much, we're ranked third.
