Enough with the "let's tank the rest of the season" talk

How anyone can consciously root for their team to lose is beyond me.  Their rationale is to get better draft picks.  But I can name plenty of top 10 picks that don't pan out, and plenty of lower round picks that do.  The key is to have a GM and scouting dept. that can do their job and if they do then in the end it doesn't matter where you pick as long as you get value in those picks.

I still hope they win out.

Message board talk is largely irrelevant though, mostly just noise.  I doubt the players are going to tank the season to get a better draft pick, given that draft pick might be the one replacing them.

If by some grace of God Myles Garrett fell to us, I'd more than happily lose the rest of the games this season.

This team is too injured and hamstrung by poor coaching to win out so why go 7-9 when going 4-12 means we get basically 5 players in 3 rounds when you count an early 4th and Norman's compensatory pick. Imagine a blue chip prospect like Fornette, Garrett, Peppers or Adams in a Panthers uniform.

The problem is you never know how a draft pick will turn out.  He could be a bust or get injured, arrested, fail drug tests,  etc., etc.

You don't have to go back far to see this.  Look at players like Aaron Curry, RG III, Dion Jordan...the list goes on and on for top billed players just not making it in the NFL for one reason or another.

And nobody knows what will happen this season.  Stranger things have happened than a 9-7 team making the playoffs...like a 9-7 team winning the Super Bowl for instance.

Shouldn't call yourself a fan .....shame on you.

Shame on you for only looking short term and a few meaningless wins.

Real fans look at the bigger picture long term with real goals in mind (nfl championship).

Smh if you think we are ever gonna win the champ with Shula calling plays.

Dude is beyond trash.

Keep pounding, that's why.

I agree with this. I know we aren't going anywhere in the post season and we will be lucky to make it through this season with 6 wins but I do not like the "let's tank for a high draft pick" talk. It's a loser mentality and who wants to root for a team who starts intentionally losing for draft picks? I would hope our guys have more pride than that.

Not to mention players are playing for their jobs. Most have no clue what next year holds
