Enough with the "let's tank the rest of the season" talk

How anyone can consciously root for their team to lose is beyond me.  Their rationale is to get better draft picks.  But I can name plenty of top 10 picks that don't pan out, and plenty of lower round picks that do.  The key is to have a GM and scouting dept. that can do their job and if they do then in the end it doesn't matter where you pick as long as you get value in those picks.

You are completely forgetting about tanking to get coaches fired.

I would gladly sacrifice one season if it meant Shula was fired and we 1) got a good - elite OC and 2) got a high draft pick

If by some grace of God Myles Garrett fell to us, I'd more than happily lose the rest of the games this season.

This team is too injured and hamstrung by poor coaching to win out so why go 7-9 when going 4-12 means we get basically 5 players in 3 rounds when you count an early 4th and Norman's compensatory pick. Imagine a blue chip prospect like Fornette, Garrett, Peppers or Adams in a Panthers uniform.

I agree with this. I know we aren't going anywhere in the post season and we will be lucky to make it through this season with 6 wins but I do not like the "let's tank for a high draft pick" talk. It's a loser mentality and who wants to root for a team who starts intentionally losing for draft picks? I would hope our guys have more pride than that.

I just want a top ten draft pick, that will definitely help and this team can reload at various positions that need an upgrade. Mainly the O-line and DE position. This season is lost anyway, what's the point of winning out now when you don't have jack to show for it? You ain't making the playoffs, and you sure as hell ain't helping yourself in draft position by winning. Hate to say it but I don't think that this team will need any fan hoping they lose, they will do that themselves. The IR moves pretty much seals the deal for a top ten pick. That line will not be sufficient as it was with Kalil. This last loss may have deflated the team to be honest. If they win  2 more games I will be surprised.

Shula and Ron are going to be here regardless of our record. Gettleman knows who screwed up and knows that injuries have decimated this team. You can't make wholesale adjustments and tweak the unit's scheme with a revolving door of new players each week. You can only innovate to the level of the weakest link because their breakdowns and mistakes impact everyone else on the team. We keep having to keep things basic because we have new folks every week at key positions like center and in the secondary.
