Kick off Returners

I was just browsing the threads and someone mentioned needing to improve kickoff/punt returners. Can anyone explain why we have Fozzy and Webb returning kickoffs. I just hope they take a knee every time....if they try and run it out, we are losing yards. I thought this during the game at Oakland and wondered if anyone else yells at the tv to take a knee.

Yes I've said this since first of the year. If teams were smart they'd never kick into the end zone against us. Cause there's no way Webb or fozzy is returning it to the 20.  And that's not even considering the penalty which we seem to have every return.

Our Sts  have sucked for years.

Byrd did a good job in preseason.

This is the deal , speed is where it's at. And our team is slow very slow. Without any game breakers. We have one homerun  threat and that's Ginn ( if he catches it) RR is a horrible talent evaluator  evidenced by the old players he keeps jogging out there. Loyalty should be his demise , either that or ineptitude

I said this to myself during the Oakland game that I want to see more of Byrd...played well in preseason and has SPEED.

All our coaches need to do, is drive about 4 hrs down I-85, and watch how Atl. is using Taylor Gabriel.

Don't look at our historical kick return averages compared to the league averages. You'll wonder WTF we continue to let that happen, especially when Byrd had 1 or 2 kick returns in preseason and took one 50 yards. We can't get to the 20, but we also can't figure out how to get a guy who could be electric out there. SMH.

we never cared about ST. Just like everytime someone kick a FG on us. We are probably the last team in blocking FG the last 20 years.

I agree with many of the comments on here.  This is something I have been b*tching about all season.  If teams were smart they would short kick it to Fozzy every time because he rarely ever even makes it to the twenty and there have been plenty of times with a penalty we are starting drives at the ten.  Several of these times he even took it out of the endzone and due to the penalty we end up at the ten.  Not taking a knee and the return game overall has cost the Panthers a lot this season.

You mean DG is bad talent evaluator, his obsession with size is leaving glaring holes for finess players

If Amini hadn't got  hurt to the point of not being able to return, he'd still be starting over Norwell under RR. What's that say about Riveras talent evaluation

DG could be to blame for lack of speed. But RRs the one who picks the starters and backups
