This sucks!  I was holding out hope that they could somehow pull out enough wins to give us our first back to back winning seasons.   Now, guess we can only hope that the young guys get some reps so that we can determine if there's enough potential there to warrant another season of development.

carroll is one of the top football minds in the league and is always changing and adapting his scheme to the personnel he has.  it isn't foolproof as last week against the bucs showed but you can still field a consistent winner.  the problem with our system is that it makes masking weaknesses really difficult.  the seahawks are nearly the exact opposite; they're still a west coast offense philosophically and there's a lot that an be done in that system to keep the pass rush off the quarterback.  cam, for all his gifts, isn't an ideal fit for that system.  stack shula on top of that and you've got this year's pile of crap.

the NFL is all about juggling roster weaknesses from year to year, and every team has to do it which is where schematic soundness comes in.  it's not a coincidence that the franchises who are in the playoffs every year are coached by guys like belichick and carroll even if they have objectively sub-par talent in certain areas.

They have invested heavily in their secondary and don't rely on their front 7 to do everything.

Well if they are giving up on the season then we might as well start Cash, Mayo, Thompson at LB, Butler and Love at DT, and put Sanchez in at Nickel to get everyone some experience. I think getting Cash some PT would be really good for his development
