am i seeing something different? i see ginn breaking open and cam winding up to throw to him right as he gets hit. no way to really throw that ball early until the slot guy draws the nickel past ginn or he can jump the route (the CB covering ginn was clearly playing zone and would've covered the slot receiver if the nickel had released him.)

imo if cam throws that ball at ginn a second earlier it's a pick. if fozzy makes a block and gives him an extra half second it's a catch and first and goal at the 25.

Looks like a good defensive call to me. Sometimes it's not what we didn't do but what they did better.

They dialed it up correctly.

Probably needed a little less than 3.5. He was sacked in less than 3 seconds.

Funchess looked to be open for a slit second on that inside post route. I doubt Ginn could have gotten to the sticks. They also had a guy spying Cam in case he scrambled so it was good defense and bad pass protection

That depends.  If he hits Ginn in stride, I have little doubt Ginn picks it up.  If Ginn has to slow up to catch it, yeah its a stop and we are all complaining about Shula's play call or Cam's throw.

Some of those sacks were on him though for holding onto the ball. 

 

This thread for example. 

You must be blind. This sack wasn't on him if he threw it to ginn as soon as he got open there's no guarantee he would've caught it let alone got the first down. Cam was trying to wait until he say someone open then looked to ginn to throw to him while in stride. Because we all know Ginn is more likely to catch the ball on the move. This was on the line they couldn't even hold up 6 fuging seconds.

Ginn should have been running a counter route to KB's route. He should have been coming underneath KB on a deep slant. That way he either rubs KB's defender or breaks open for the first. And that should have been the first read. 

Judging by Cam looking to Olsen first, that wasn't the call. Ginn ran a useless curl that didn't influence anyone. His man covers him while staying in the path of KBs route.

This team has too many injuries and bad coaching to even finish a game even though they are in every game that honestly is disheartening and gives me hope for next year I'm just tired of waiting infinitely for next year.....

Cam was just being the team leader. He got sacked on purpose to take the blame because you know Ganot was going to miss.

I like Ginn but the hesitation in the route makes me wonder if he ran the wrong route.  If he slants behind the slot he would be in Cam's view and had ton of yardage for god knows how many yards.

Fozzy and Turner royal fuged that play up, especially with fozzys piss poor pass protection, same bs in the Super Bowl, hopefully we move on from fozzy after this season
