2017 FAs that will improve this team...

When you need something sometimes you're going to have to give something up (cap space, draft picks).

We need OL, DE, RB, #1WR, Atlanta gave up a lot for Julio do the Panthers have the balls to identify and go after a guy instead of BPA?

Does the front office have the testicular fortitude to bring in mid to top tier free agents?

There a some tackles that are on IR now that might be cut next season. Geoff Schwartz brought up the point that teams will cut ties with IR'ed players and other teams can sign them to prove it deals.

its a pipe dream but Ryan Clady would be nice with that situation. It is the jets so you never know if they want to clear out this off season too.

We lost all leverage of "Hey come play for a championship team we just went 15-1 and to the superbowl" with this offseason of sitting on our ass.

No one who seen carolina this year wanna come here... Media is roasting Carolina too so what or who reason is there?

People still sign with the Browns.

This whole notion is silly.

Anyone who thinks we are going to pickup a top teir FA needs to pull their head out of the sand. It aint going to happen and shouldnt happen if it hinders the extensions of KK, Star, Turner, and Norwell.

Realistic guys who we could get that can improve us though

Matt Kalil-  had a solid rookie year but since then hasnt looked great.  Kind of sounds similar to our guy Oher.  Speaking of Oher, I dont expect him coming back (injury sounds serious and he hangs it up).   I fully expect Kalil could come in and have a season like Oher did last season which wasnt all that bad (probowl alternate).  Wont be a world beater but does a decent job holding up for Cam unlike like Remmers or Byron Bell.  The only 1st round guys worth a top pick is the kid from Notre Dame when he comes out which I expect he will.  We wont touch Cam Robinson after his Felony this past spring

Andrew Whitworth- Unrealistic,  would we rather have him or KK Short?

Jabaal Sheard- will NE throw out the money to keep him?

Alex Okafor- my favorite.  Came out every said was suited more for 4-3 DE.  Has played OLB for Arizona.  Blew up his 2nd season with 8 sacks.  Been a little quiet since, has 2.5 sacks this season.

Captain Munnerlyn- Minn is full of young corner so he gets knocked out.  we need a nickle bad and will take him.

Prince Amukamara- A Giants/Gettleman guy, signed a 1 year prove it deal with Jax.  Jax wont give him a long term deal.  Amukamara hasnt looked Great this year but has the talent to be a solid corner in our Zone D.  Wont require a big Norman style deal and something more Gettleman Friendly.

Marquis Goodwin, Cordarrelle Patterson-  Both speedy guys, both can return kicks.

Desean Jackson

I agree. Reason why Crowder has been successful is because the attention is in Jackson. He can fly past everyone. Kind of like someone we already have but better hands. If cousins threw a better deep ball, Jackson would be leading in all wr categories. You know who throws a better deep ball than Cousins...Cam. He also returns punts. You know who needs a PR...we do.

Jabaal Sheard is one guy I want as well. After having a great season last season he's not doing much this season. He's the perfect buy low candidate!

Desean Jackson is the perfect WR for Cam. He's an extremely better version of Ted Ginn. Just imagine the what Cam could do with a guy like DJax.

Another guy I'd love to see us sign is Cordarelle Patterson. We desperately need to improve the return game (punt and kickoff) and he's also proven to be a great gunner this season as well! He'd be another situational playmaker on offense for us as well, something we desperately lack.

In a perfect world Oher comes back and Williams takes over for Remmers. We draft Leonard Fournette and go with a Fournette/Stew combo next season! We have a ton of holes and this route (while being realistic) is the quickest way to make our way back atop of the division.

If Fournette, Peppers and Garrett are all gone, pending where we are drafting I like OJ Howard (mid-late) and I'm also beginning to really like Malik Hooker!

Also as it stands right now I couldn't care less if we keep KK. If he's still wanting stupid money then he can kick rocks. Norwell and Turner are more important and we have too many other holes to be spending all our money in one place.

    • I sure do miss the days of having guys like Cam, Luke, Peppers, Olsen, Steve Smith etc who were faces of the franchise and could dominant games. I hope we can soon find and develop future faces of the franchise like the past guys and find a strong identity with some game changers on defense.
    • People comparing this deal to CMC, Williams, or Stewart is laughable, and I'll break the numbers down as to why: In 2020 We made CMC the highest paid RB ever. We gave him a $64 million over 4 years with $38 million guaranteed. That's $16 million on average. In 2011 we extended Williams, then in 2012 we extended Stewart. These extensions were 12 and 13 years ago: Williams - 5 years, $43 Million, $25 Million Guaranteed, Average of $8.6 Million per year Stewart - 5 years, $36 Million, $23 Million Guaranteed, Average of $7.3 Million per year Let me do the math for you: The Salary Cap in 2020 when we Signed CMC was $198.2 Million. CMC accounted for 8% of our total cap that season. The Salary Cap in 2012, when we had both Williams and Stewart under contract, was $120.6 Million. Those two combined to take up 13.1% of our total cap that season. Without the cap going up next season (and it will) Chuba is taking up 3.2% of our total cap. That's it. Not only are we paying Chuba HALF of what we were paying CMC per year, and LESS than what we paid Williams over a decade ago, the overall cap percentage shows how much less significant the contract extension is compared to those other moves. I really am not following how people are calling this contract a "big" money contract on a running back and a waste of cap space. This is a solid starting RB contract in the modern NFL.
    • Yeah Brown was shown to be a lot more important even in his second year
