KB needs to step it up a little bit mentally (specifically not selling out for the 1st down) and up his precision on routes.  Once he can do that he'll be unstoppable.  It has to be more difficult for him because he's such a large human.  No we should not trade Kelvin Benjamin.

He also ran his route one yard short and then only realized it when he was already 5 yards out of bounds stretched the ball out.

KB needs better talent around him in order to be a No. 1. It would start with the OL if our GM ever gets his hand out of his ass.

You do realize or maybe you dont but KB is only in his second year of playing in the NFL..that I would account to a rookie mistake..that play wasn't why we lost the game..

He is our #1 receiver and wasn't targeted for a catch until either late in the 1st or 2nd Quarter..

Yeah his route on that 3rd and 10 that set up that punt on the 2nd to last drive was really bad(Rivera still should have went for it).  He just seems to disappear too consistently to be a true #1 difference maker WR in the NFL IMO.

But when you look at it, he's still young. As a poster mentioned, it's only his second year on the field. I think Proehl is awesome but Kelvin needs some one on one with his route running and field awareness. That's on him if he wants to perfect his craft though. He's a big, strong receiver and has potential. I'd just love to see him get that down.

Defending Shula when we only had 89 yards total offensively in the 1st half wouldnt be the smartest thing to do..

Shula needs to go along with Rivera..

Shula didn't cause Ginn to drop an easy bomb or Olsen to drop a chain moved early, etc.

we shouldn't of been in that game to begin with considering our OL issues.

offense adapted in the 2nd half to score and his calls put us in position....yet people still recycle the Shula nonsense.

Our issue is the talent and HC more than coordinators.

There are tons of Shulas in the NFL.

KB is soft with 2 capital Ts in the end lol

KB isn't soft

KB is just a one trick pony to a large degree.  I would wager his snaps greatly decreased in the 2nd half and opened up more opportunities in the pass game.

He is great at what he does but our OL can't hold up for him to set himself up downfield

well, I agree with the one trick pony part, but there were instances this season where he could have easily used hid big body to make a play and he gives up ... just my observation

still have not forgiven him for having the ball ripped from him by a smaller guy at the kC game ...

No, no , no....why? The guy is in his second year and playing pretty good. I really  hate threads that single out on player....we lost as a team..we are just not that good this year. I will still cheer for us each week but we will come back better next year....i just ask that we get rid of that double screen spin around play....i cant even give you a name for it other than the dumb play we called while backed up in our own territory

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
