If and when Shula is fired, who would you like to see become our next OC?

Cam has done historical things to date (national media doesn't really touch on that subject though)

Shula has been a constant for Cam.  He got promoted because of that....and we have had the best win percentage with Shula as OC in Panther history.

Ron is going to really have arm twisted to give up a scapegoat.  Not saying it won't happen...but it is far from the certainty people act like.

Shula paired with Rivera simply has resulted in the best results this franchise has seen.  Ron ain't going to easy toss Shula aside.

I shiver to think what Cam would be today if his first year was with Shula instead of Chudzinski. Cam just might now be moving from a total College based offense.

I find it so funny all of you absolutely hate on Shula. Did Anyone, anyone ever stop to think maybe Cam vouches for him? How many of you would roll in your graves to that though. HA.

He absolutely does, but Cam is a player and his job is to do just that. Shula is all he's known and I'm sure he'd hate to see him go, but he'll get over it.

In no particular order...

James Urban WR Coach/Cincinnati plus QB Coach under Andy Reid in Philly.

Randy Fitchner QB Coach/Pittsburgh

Eric Bienemy RB Coach/Kansas City

Chad O'Shea WR Coach/New England

If you want to go retread route, call up Charlie Weis. If you had a brass set of balls, Art Briles.

The thing about Shula is that he was an excellent choice as QB coach in 2011. Just because Chud walked didn't mean you had to promote Shula. However, I'm fine with Dorsey. No matter what happens with this staff, I would want to retain Dorsey and Proehl.

In our current state, if we continue down the path of a losing season, someone will be the scapegoat.

Makes sense. It also makes sense it will not be Rivera. Hard to explain firing a two time coach of the year, three division titles and a super bowl appearance. Can't fire McDermott because up until this year, we have had a top ten D since he has been here. That leaves Shula. Still, I think they will have a tough time firing him especially since we had the 16th greatest offense of all time last year. I'm not saying I'm a fan of Shula and I'm not saying I don't like Shula, but it is the most logical choice to pick as a scape goat.

    • I sure do miss the days of having guys like Cam, Luke, Peppers, Olsen, Steve Smith etc who were faces of the franchise and could dominant games. I hope we can soon find and develop future faces of the franchise like the past guys and find a strong identity with some game changers on defense.
    • People comparing this deal to CMC, Williams, or Stewart is laughable, and I'll break the numbers down as to why: In 2020 We made CMC the highest paid RB ever. We gave him a $64 million over 4 years with $38 million guaranteed. That's $16 million on average. In 2011 we extended Williams, then in 2012 we extended Stewart. These extensions were 12 and 13 years ago: Williams - 5 years, $43 Million, $25 Million Guaranteed, Average of $8.6 Million per year Stewart - 5 years, $36 Million, $23 Million Guaranteed, Average of $7.3 Million per year Let me do the math for you: The Salary Cap in 2020 when we Signed CMC was $198.2 Million. CMC accounted for 8% of our total cap that season. The Salary Cap in 2012, when we had both Williams and Stewart under contract, was $120.6 Million. Those two combined to take up 13.1% of our total cap that season. Without the cap going up next season (and it will) Chuba is taking up 3.2% of our total cap. That's it. Not only are we paying Chuba HALF of what we were paying CMC per year, and LESS than what we paid Williams over a decade ago, the overall cap percentage shows how much less significant the contract extension is compared to those other moves. I really am not following how people are calling this contract a "big" money contract on a running back and a waste of cap space. This is a solid starting RB contract in the modern NFL.
    • Yeah Brown was shown to be a lot more important even in his second year
