Charles was huge for us in the playoffs last year. Especially against Seattle when they ran the read option. Stats won't show how good he's been this year, but against the run he has been solid and has made some key qb hurries.

Normally I would defend Ealy, but his superbowl performance was truly an outlier. He's good situationally, but he needs to get his other skillsets in check before becoming an every down type of pass rusher. 

CJ clearly is our best DE.

Yeah, CJ had two years before Hardy started helping full time. Yet CJ was still beasting. So trying to say CJ needed a partner on the other side is doing him a disservice.

 

I agree that CJ was off last year, mainly because of injury. But he came on late, and played a big roll in us getting to the SuperB owl.

 

He has played well so far this year. As QBs are getting the ball out so fast, he hasn't had much of a chance at sacks. But he is as disruptive as heck. And cheap as heck as well.
