Voth suggests Shula could be replaced

I think they could definitely be 7-3. We have plenty of talent. Already agreed on that. Also already agreed that Shula's time here needs to come to an end.

But it's also gut check time all around my man. Shoring up our OL has to be, imo, top priority in the offseason. We've poured an exorbitant amount of resources into our defense throughout the Newton era, and I'm ready to go all in with the offense. Point blank period.

I'm good with that. I'll call Dave later.

That and they have coached the intuition out of him. and it's a freaking tragedy. cam is  longer a threat to run on every down, and that's what made him great.

Well the NFL likely has had a hand in that...NFL has to a small degree green lighted bounty hunting Cam.

so now limiting his hits is forced into consideration IMO

I don't think anybody thinks too highly of Mike Shula, but it's important to understand what this is-its a scapegoat manuever.

You cannot in truthfully good conscious fire anybody with the mileage they've gotten out of this roster and the lack of talent as it currently stands. Its also important to remember how integrated Cam and Shula are with one another, and that finding another coordinator who is willing to go that extra 10 miles & have patience with Cam, and etc.

Edit: this article almost makes it sound like Shula was set up.

"We could really use some new pieces on offense?"

"Defensive tackle?"

We were 15-1 with the same if not less offensive talent last season.

This season, we have last year's offense PLUS Kelvin Benjamin. We still have Remmers on either side of the line.

Yet... we regularly implode in the 2nd half.

It's not talent. It's coaching. If you can't do what you want to do due to the players you have, then change what you do. When Ron was first brought in, that was what stuck out to me more than anything else: That he wanted to work with the talent he had and put them in positions to succeed rather than pigeon-holing them unsuccessfully into roles they couldn't perform. Now, it takes him nearly half the season to conclude that maybe Kony Ealy is better on the left side. -_-

That and Gettlemen completely disregarding the Offensive Line.

The line that is banged up? Gettleman went cheap tried to go one more year on it, backfired. Age is a bitch. When people say yesterday, sometimes it was just yesterday I could do that.... DG cannot ignore the Oline this season. Draft, FA, and trades, whatever if takes. Can't ignore it anymore.

I just want to say that the lack of the running game recently is due to the fact that we have removed Cam from the running game to try and prevent injury. Cam has been 80% of the offense and it's time he gets some help. You do that by doing what the Cowboys did and get the hog mollies in front of him or you do that by getting a OC that can scheme around our offensive deficiencies. Right now we have neither.

Yeah, I agree. After the Superbowl DG should have known the top priority.

DG failed us in more ways than one this offseason. Like I said, I don't like Shula and I want his head off BUT he wasn't in charge of adding talent and if it's true that he asked for more, he shouldn't shoulder all the blame. DG has gotten comfortable with Cam making lemonade out of oranges.

Here's the thing, I don't even mind the Norman release at this point.  While it was borderline retarded, it's whatever.  Bradberry has shown glimpses of stardom, and I'm okay with that.  Even though Worley has shown glimpses of, uh, well, nothing.  But, completely disregarding the offensive line when they got destroyed in the biggest game of the year.  I just can't go along with that.
