Not really. Cam has had ample time in the pocket this year to make plays provided an adequate play was called. That last part is the problem. How many times do I need to post pictures of Cam after 3 seconds getting pressure with zero receivers ready for the ball?

Oh you're not going to get any argument about the long developing routes. Trust me.

But here's the issue. Our identity is a running team. We can't run. Why? Hmm, lemme see....

That's been one of my biggest issues when I watch our offense vs other teams. Cam seems like he's always having to fit the ball in tight windows and other teams wide receivers seem to be wide open for easy completions. So either our WRs can't get open or we can't scheme them open.

Because Cam isn't running.

He is the only reason the Panthers identity has been a running team.

Cam has been 80% of the Panthers offense since he got here, giving a nice cover to the piss poor job Shula does managing games.

Cam has the team record for rushing touchdowns for christ sake

I'm just shocked they have been so bad running behind Turner and Williams. I realize Kalil being out is hurting too but it just seems those two beasts could push somebody out of the way sometimes.  Norwell too. seems run blocking if anything would be at least OK.

I don't care for Shula because I don't think he can call a 4 quarter game, but some of the problems aren't all him. The o-line is terrible. It doesn't matter who comes in, if they offensive line doesn't get fixed we can't win much. As much as his play calling at times is questionable, he is working with what he has. Now, I usually wouldn't stick up for him but no OC can come in and fix this line. It's not his job to add the pieces he needs.

We can save ourselves the trouble here, and just agree that Shula needs to go.

But that doesn't completely absolve our front office of this disaster that is currently our OL. No it isn't the worst in the NFL, or the worst ever, but going from a Super Bowl team to this is simply inexcusable. Do you agree?

Chargers, Vikings, 49ers are all worse and it's not even close. Cardinals, Browns, Colts too

A lot of those teams aren't giving their OL the type help we do.  A factor still overlooked to this date. Some might be on par with one aspect of our OL.  But Carolina is bad run and pass.

Also, Cam simply helps it from looking as bad by his ability to deal and escape it.  Insert the Browns QB into our offense and we don't score at all.

Didn't they have the exact same OL personnel as last year? Would that not indicate a coaching problem?

Funny how the roster is able to score in the first half but unable to score in the second half.

Rivera doesn't get blame for the second half struggles but he should. rivera is a defensive guy who thinks his defense can hold a lead so he has his offense go into clock mode. Blowing 2nd half leads isn't new to this year. He's been doing it since he got here.

Our OL isn't worst in the NFL.

But let's keep it in perspective. None of those teams have a dynamic QB with the ability to make something out of nothing (except the Colts maybe), and help the OL look slightly better than it really is.

I mean, you put Phillip Rivers, or Carson Palmer behind this OL, and someone would probably still be picking up pieces of them from the turf right now.

they need the long routes to get open.  Otherwise every throw is a WR boxing out.

you can put good route running WRs in any scheme and they open IMO.  We basically run 3 TEs to a degree
