Shula sucks--No he doesn't

Then Gman sucks--No he doesn't

Well then Rivera sucks--No he doesn't

Then we don't have the talent--Yes, yes we do

So...after 27 pages, I still don't have a clue what the trouble is.

Because its not any one thing.  But if you have to have one thing

turnovers

2016 turnover stats

25 Carolina Panthers 14 19 -5

2015 turnover stats

1 Carolina Panthers 39 19 20

Turnovers are big this year no doubt. Especially early in the year.

Is it a coinky dinky that we started winning when the turnovers went down? Cam's first four years we couldn't win if we had any turnovers. Last year we won no matter how many we had. This year? It is back to the can't win with any turnovers.

Dang wishy washy team. I tell ya what.

Some of you are funny.

Aint no GM perfect. DG had hit more times than he has missed That is for sure.

About the only critic I have of him is not getting another vet in the secondary and maybe trying to add another FA OL player.

Our OL was decent last year. No one could foresee these injuries.

Our DL was good last year. No one could foresee their regression.

Which in turn was suppose to mask the youth of your secondary.

In games we got pressure the secondary looked ok - good.

Our troubles can be broken down like this

70% - Coaching

10% - Player Regression

10% - Injuries

10% - GM

I will never argue against OL. We can always upgrade the OL forever as far as I'm concerned.  Outside of that when was the last SB won by a bunch of offensive talent outside of the QB? It wasn't last year. NE big talent was Brady and Gronk. Seattle had defense and Lynch. Ravens? no. Giants? no. GB? maybe. Saints?

These teams won with overall sound play. None of them had loads of offensive stars outside of the QB and one other. They had good players playing well. That's what we had last year.

Look at a team like the Steelers. There offense is predicted on two offensive players, a good QB and a solid line. Give Cam the same time as the Steelers give there QB and give Jstew the lanes they give there RB and Shula is a non factor.

You just unknowingly made the case for lack of talent around Cam

Didn't do any such thing, unless you are saying that Steve Smith wasn't that talented, in which case we will have to agree to vehemently disagree.  He had Steve Smith for three years, then Kelvin for 1 plus years.  And Olsen for all his years with us.  Not the greatest collection of receiver talent ever, but far from the worst.  Probably a better overall group than the group Delhomme had in 2005 with a great Steve Smith, and couldn't catch a cold Keary Colbert.  Ironically, our most successful year was the year that we had arguably the least talented group of receivers in Cam's years with us.

Do you blame coaches, players, or the GM for the dramatic downturn in turnover differential?

Ivan has it right .  We do the same thing as last year and teams have adjusted to what we do. No adjustments

at halftime and the read option puts Cam in a bad spot.  Running from the shotgun has been a bust.  We need

a power run game with a FB and HB to open holes . If we need Cam to run, he can option out on the sweep

plays .

Fair analysis but I would say if there is regression our coaching staff is responsible for it. I'd boost it up to 80%. Shula remains incompetent but what about our skill positions? Why did it take our DL this long to get going? Star has been our North Star all season. Why are our players committing stupid penalties, especially on Special Teams?

Coaching is a huge problem right now.

Yea, the coaching staff could absolutely be responsible for a large part of the player regression.
