Voth suggests Shula could be replaced

the correlation between this year and last year is to show you that we have the talent, the proof is in the pudding - but coaching and preparation are stopping us from utilizing the talent we have. It is up to the coaches to game plan, make adjustments, and well...coach.

Look at it from this perspective, our weakness from last year, what did we do to fix them personnel wise?

There's no reason not to bring in better personnel, that way if Shula is fired or not the answer you have a talented core for a new oc to work with, a new oc is going to have to deal with the same talent issue we deal with now

what are you insinuating that our weakness was last year? of course you are always suppose to be bringing in good talent, but if you are really trying to back up Shula as a legit coordinator than I can not help you. he has everything to do with gameplanning and adjusting/giving up first half leads.

the whole argument here is the fact that you said we lack talent when we have one of the most talented offensive rosters in the league.

but that is the thing, here we call Ted Ginn a weapon....rest of the NFL calls him a 5th string WR.

I still say the problem with this team isn't offense, it's defense.  If our defense performed like it did last year we'd have at most 1 or maybe 2 losses.

Our defense isn't the same as it was last year. We have a relatively weak secondary, and our pass rush hasn't been good, but that doesn't change the fact that the NFL is catering to offenses. It isn't reasonable to expect our defense, even last years, to hold teams scoreless in the second half. The best way to help our defense is to score some freaking points so they don't have to do everything. How much pressure is on the defense knowing they can't allow any points because our offense is poo in the 2nd half? That's a huge mental challenge to face every single week.

Shula keeps trotting out the same busted ass offensive game plan that doesn't work week in and week out like something is going to miraculously change. Graham Gano as our best offensive weapon in the second half is complete bullshit. Either get it done, or get the fug out.

We do not have one of the most talented offensive roster just stop there, our weakness was our o line, and has been since gross and warton(?) retired. Our wr core is a close second, followed by the steady decline of Tolbert. With the talent we have were able to field a middle of the pack offense, look at the top offenses in the league and compare our offensive roster to theirs

I keep going back to the draft. You're not able to get Jared Cook or any other TE fa, that's fine. Just draft Hunter Henry, and boom, we incorporate two TE sets like Shula wanted to do.

Instead, we draft Vernon Butler, who Dave probably didn't have much expectations for this year.

There is NO way he could have had high expectations because he was drafted to be a freaking backup.

Every single thread these days devolves into the same discussion..  Gettleman supporters versus Gettleman haters. Best GM we've ever had and people want him gone after one down year

best GM we ever had?

4 years in and Hurney had a high approval rating than Gettlemen probably.  Not much higher but Hurney was highly regarded for awhile.  Everything he did turned to gold.

Gettlemen hasn't been on the job long enough.  He could be great.  But we thought Hurney was great too in a short window.  Gettlemen has some potential red flags on him.

Objectively speaking, the last three years are the most successful period in Panthers history.

That really can't be argued.
