The film guy that comes on the Dan LeBatard show just said the problem with our offense is  the tackles. He explained it as with the receivers we have we run an offense with deep routes so Cam has to hold the ball for the receivers to complete the routes and right now there's no time for that to happen.

So yea basically it's injuries, Gettleman, and lack of adjustments from Shula.

The long developing routes go back to how the plays are designed.

But as mentioned before, it's not just that the routes are long.  It's as much as anything that they're poorly coordinated.

Why do I keep seeing "we have the same talent as last year" excuse, go back and look at what our divisional rivals did in the offseason, this assumption that just because we did it last year we can do it this year shows some of you don't pay attention to football, and did we just get compared to sea and min o line, the same min that was on a 4 game losing streak because of that,It is a TALENT ISSUE

That's my things! If Shula asked and his requests fell on deaf ears, I don't think it's fair that he's the scapegoat. As much as I would like to see him gone, I don't know you can not blame the front office. DG gambled and was too comfortable with Cam and Shula making due with what we had. Shula knew it wouldn't work because we were found out. I do blame him for not tweaking or designing around that.

Shula's issues aren't new and didn't just start this season.

They were there last year too, but we generally had enough talent to mask them.

This year?  Not so much.

He, and sadly Rivera as well, both deserve to be replaced based on their body of work, not just this year.

And yes, that includes last year,

But the talent you have is what you have....can't scheme to solve everything

I keep going back to the draft. You're not able to get Jared Cook or any other TE fa, that's fine. Just draft Hunter Henry, and boom, we incorporate two TE sets like Shula wanted to do.

Instead, we draft Vernon Butler, who Dave probably didn't have much expectations for this year.

Other than two of the last three years, that's been us.

Every team has coaching issues whether they're winning or losing, honestly.  The idea is to have more good than bad.

I don't think we do.

I wouldn't count our rally out of that third year... for all the dislike of this coaching staff they are 13-3 after Thanksgiving the past 3 years.

If trends are trends... let's hope they keep this one too. Shall we?

I'm all for rallying, but I'm honestly tired of the whole "start slow, rally late" rollercoaster.

I want consistency.

His expectations were the same as Shaq...be a backup role player for years and maybe be leverage when your starters deals come up.

that ain't building through the draft.  Teams in today's NFL use the first round for starters...and to be one soon.

Dave says a lot.  But Dave doesn't actually follow the Dave verbal blueprint.  He isn't investing in hog mollies up front, questionable first round drafting if you rely on building through the draft, and claiming you don't develop players for other teams.    He was basically the anti Dave this offseason...except the cheap aspect

the mental gymnastics to get around how using our first round pick on a DT is NOT investing in a hog mollie is impressive
