SNF: Packers vs Redskins

So, I see this is a thread about SNF.

But actually, it's 3 pages of complaining about calls the Panthers don't get and making fun of ex Panthers.

Lame board is lame.

So ... I'll start. WTF happened to the Pack? They're awful this season. Also, Jamison Crowder is pretty damn good.

Redskins about to be 6-3-1, Giants 7-3, Lions and Vikes both 6-4.

Hopefully the Playoffs talk can die around here.

Three teams will come out of the NFCE. Point blank.

Whitner > Griffin > Stevie = Gman cheap ass

GB's secondary sucks so bad that Bene won't even sign with them. They're leading rusher for tonight is Rodgers. That explains their season. GB/ARod and McCarthy are done. NFL figure them out. One very good season; copy Cat league. ARod is old as hell.

Whitner hasn't looked that great and anyways he claimed that we made him an offer. If that's true it just came down to the Skins offering more. Griffin's been fine, not much worse if at all than Whitner. And Boston has come on lately and looked pretty good. Better than Whitner in recent weeks.

I've seen Whitner makes some good tackle in a couple games now. Griffin is, don't even see him on the field anymore. Tre had stole that job back.

Wow, some pretty bad play in the secondary the last few minutes.  The Green Bay TD looked worse than anything we did against Atlanta, while the Green Bay secondary is making Cousins look great.

I don't know. We set a really low bar in that game.

Then again, they're out in the open in all that wind. It could actually be worse.

I was trying to find the exact rule but couldn't find it. There's no falling to the ground so that portion doesn't apply. The fact that the ref said the play stood rather than confirmed makes me believe that if it was initially called incomplete, it would've stayed that way.

Haha sorry for this, can you explain the whole stand and confirmed thing I always get them confused.

If it's confirmed it means that the video review showed clear, irrefutable evidence of the call. If it stands it means it's unclear exactly what the right ruling is and they go with the call on the field.

For example, on the Broncos blocked PAT return against the Aints, the returned may have stepped out on the return. They called him inbounds on the field and when reviewed it just stood because it wasn't clear. If they had ruled him out of bounds on the field that would've stayed the call.

We at least had someone within 10 yards of Jones even if all the defender did was wave at him as he went by.   The closest pass defender to the GB td wasn't even in the same camera picture.

This poo of Rodgers giving himself up in a slide and then getting up and trying to run again is bullshit. That should be a penalty. If it's a penalty for a return man to signal for a fair catch and then try to run,it should be a penalty for a QB to try to run after sliding. There's already enough rules protecting QBs not named Cam Newton. It's bullshit to allow Rodgers to keep doing that gamesmanship crap. You know if a defender is unsure if he slid or not and hits him, it's gonna be a free 15 yards and IMO that's exactly what Rodgers is hoping for in those situations. Either that or the refs being too dumb to realize he's ineligible to advance the ball after sliding which given the state of NFL reffing doesn't seem out of the question.  Either way, it's bullshit and if he keeps doing it, they should make that a penalty in the off season.

Thank you. Very descriptive. If I could give you more pie I would. Since I can't, I shall call you Boss.

I don't see a problem with it. Going head first with a slide isn't really giving yourself up and it is the job of the defense to recognize this and touch him down. Now this doesn't mean dive on top of him or anything but at least put a hand on him to make sure he is counted as down. Redskins were sleeping twice and lucky for them the refs had already blew it dead.
