Then get Dave Gettlemen to give his coaching staff that option by giving them an OL that can run block.  Remove Cam and we would be then worse rushing team in the NFL this year.

Also, this year specifically running Cam limits the number of plays he sits behind a bad OL while guys tee off on his head.

I don't disagree with the thought.  But given what we got we really have to run Cam to have a chance

Gotta wonder what we would be with an oline fully healthy. Williams at RT, our OGs, our C, and Oher at LT. Seems real solid on paper.

Nevertheless, I want you to play GM. Name a starter worthy tackle you see coming out of this very slim draft class of 2017. (Hint: nearly tackles from the 2016 draft are average to garbage right now.)

Don't worry, I'm waiting.

Name a tackle you'd get off of next year's FA market that won't be overpriced and cost us a good player because of how many free agents we have next year.

Still waiting.

You draft based  potential and let him learn behind  Oher kind of like what we did with Butler behind KK & Star. There are plenty of OTs to choose from.  But I rather draft a TE/RB  first then go OT/DE

In that case then heck where are all those "pro bowl caliber" tackles that have been drafted for potential lately around the league. Name a team not named Dallas or Oakland with issues with their oline.

Yea majority of the teams have a LT that is same or better than Oher. Panthers drafted  OT in  the 4th round called Daryl Williams who is doing pretty good we just need to make a investment in the draft.  I guess you are just  terrilbe at scouting players.

we know it isn't real solid.  That healthy group required more max protection calls/schemes than any team in the NFL last year to function.  Teams going into this season simply no longer allowed us to sit back and max protect and to aid what was actually a weak OL in 2015.  People seem to be in denial about the absurd lengths we went to aiding the OL and the fact our opponents pretty much allowed it with no penalty.  Teams don't allow those max protections now to go unchallenged regardless of our health....thus we are left with weak OL play regardless of how is in (really shows vs good fronts)

there have been plenty of tackles we could of obtained since Gettlemen has been GM.  No need to rehash all that so you can defend Dave's moves.  Dave has gotten us off schedule too.  We should be working on Kalil's replacement this offseason yet still have to get the OT situation addressed.

We are team that prides itself of building through the draft and Dave has used top picks of late to create depth.  History is important.  Stacking at spots comes at a cost......Hurney taught us that.  DT and LB is basically what Hurney did w/ RBs.  You can brag about your depth there but you aren't building a complete team.

Hear that?  They're coming.  The Gettlemen defenders will be here shortly.

see what you did there....you set the argument of name a Pro Bowler that was drafted recently to prove we could improve on the Rams practice squad fodder we have in Remmers.  You don't draft OL for them to be Pro Bowlers right away....pretty sure there will be some Pro Bowlers that have come out of the last 4 drafts.  In regards to OL play in general, Kalil wasn't deemed one right away you know.  He also wasn't garbage as he worked his way into that form.

we are talking about our OL.  Our OL doesn't have issues it is bad.  There are lots that aren't bad and that are forced to max protect when healthy to run basic plays.

but you asked for a specific team.  How about Tenn.  You're welcome.

didn't think Oakland looked that great last night but I had a few beers prior to watching. That being said I'd much rather Oakland or KC than Denver

That being said- they are a great team and will probably have a stand-out performance against us.

I'm worried about Mack and Irvin. Two athetlic d-ends spells TROUBLE for Cam and co. Irvin has always had our number.

We can stop the run even without Luke.  If OL can execute Cam, J-Stew, & Olsen can control the game to the end.
