But he didn't.

Only one way we will ever find out.

Lots of guys have rings though and weren't consistent winners...media didn't treat them like Manning/Brady.

heck, we likely are entering a new territory anyway.  Rodgers for example isn't winning well enough and people are finely starting to turn on that too

Heh... when Ryan folds and flops, it's "team" is it?

Yet when you compare Wilson and Newton, you want to explain it as Wilson "won" the Superbowl and Newton "lost".  All of a sudden you throw "team" out the window.

You're funny.

Or stupid.

Or funny because you're stupid.

Read the entire thread.

What's with the some of the fans in this thread attacking me? I have never once said that Wilson is better than Newton because he has a ring. I very much believe that teams win championships, not quarterbacks. I posted that in this thread....it seems like some of you guys are just assuming I'm trolling because I'm a Falcons fan.

Don't take it personal. I think we on here are just tired of the BS Cam takes on is all. I'm sure to some it seems off putting hearing it from a Falcons perspective, but it offers good discussion. I see what you are saying on a lot of points but Cams maturity and work ethic are not in question by us. It just gets old when all people see are highlights from ESPN and media snippets and then, boom, they start judging cam and talking down about him. We love the dude and will stick up for him. I'm not saying he is perfect, but he's the best qb we have ever had so we will go to bat for him.

I've honestly just never thought of creating an account on another message board. It has nothing to do with my team being an incredible 6-4 right now. I could have easily created an account when the Falcons went 13-3 in 2010 and 2012 but I didn't. Look at all my posts in this thread, how am I trolling? Just because I'm a Falcons fan doesn't mean I automatically have a compromised opinion of Newton. Have I gloated about being 1st in the division once? The Panthers have won it 3 years in a row, they're the kings right now. This topic is about Cam Newton's maturity though...there's no need for deflecting my posts with bashing me or my team

Actually, this thread is about Cowterd saying Cam has no WORK ETHIC. You turned it into a maturity thing.

When Jarred Allen got here last year, one of the first things he noticed was that he wasn't the first one in. He was used to being first, but around here, he was late.

The first person in? Either Cam...or TD. It is a matter of pride to be in before Cam. That is a leader. A towel, a Presser, a talking head, or other fans just don't see it. They just follow what they think they know.

Although, there is nothing wrong with that. As long as you don't try to convince people you know differently.

Good post. I don't have an issue with Cam being himself at all. He's a great competitor and it clearly shows when he's winning AND losing.

But, take press conferences for example. Cam should take some ownership as the highest paid player, franchise QB, and leader. He should man up and face the media. I would be very impressed if Cam actually faced the media that made him out to be the villian and owned everything regardless of it's his fault or not. That's what I personally like from my franchise player. I think his "loser" comments after the super bowl loss last year is a good example. That was the wrong thing to say. Is he wrong? Technically no. But that was a childish comment.

Now be honest. How many Pressers of Cam's have you actually seen? Up until last years SuperB owl, Cam rarely gave a bad Presser. Sure there were games where he was frustrated, but for the most part, he is always Professional during his Pressers.

Also, if you heard some of his Pressers, you'd understand. He gets the same dumb questions over and over. They always try to get him to say something negative, when he won't, they change the question like he is too dumb to notice.

"Cam, how about that Oline today?" Cam "They played hard, but I should have done more." But you were sacked 5 times?" "Are you worried about Remmers?" Same question worded differently, just to get him to say something negative about his team. After 6 years, it gets old.

Cam has only really been salty at Pressers once he started getting beat up. He is not complaining about being hit. He is complaining about not being protected in the pocket like some other QBs.

Read my post and the examples I used. Stop deflecting with bashing on Ryan. We aren't talking about the Falcons. I said I don't like that Cam doesn't avoid hits. He doesn't throw it away, he avoids his check down target to try and make a play, he doesn't run out of bounds, and he doesn't slide. He puts his health at risk.

Cam has stated over, and over, and over again. He is not going to change the way he plays. If that disappoints you, like it does so many others, tough. He knows he can't play this way forever. But as long as he feels he can, he will.

All in all, you have been civil, so I am trying to be gentle here. But, you seem to have an outsiders view on Cam. You have seen him play, but you don't know much else about him. Hope this thread opened your eyes.

Sorry for the rant. Kinda got carried away. like that has never happened before.

Thank you. You are clearly better with words than I. I completely agree and wish I could have said all those things. It's kind of like an argument where five minutes after it's over you think of something clever to say.

I don't think his work ethic, which would include film study, should be questioned. You don't have to be a "Cam hugger" to acknowledge the fact that he puts the work in and is coachable. You can not like his antics, his style or whatever, but he has the work ethic.

People that don't like Cam will use any negative they hear, or read to bash Cam. It doesn't matter if it is true or not. If it fits their narrative, they use it. If it doesn't fit, they ignore it.

Rivera has mentioned numerous times about how he always find Cam in the film room before the coaches even get there. Monday morning, there's Cam. Off day, there's Cam. First one in the building? Cam.

I truly believe that folks see Cam having fun, and automatically think he is not working as hard as he should be. Uninformed bias fuels the hate.

You're like Stephen King. 4000 words to describe a glass of water.
