You're like Stephen King. 4000 words to describe a glass of water.

The wife is yuge King fan. I've read a couple of his books, but I am just not a fan of the genre. Some of the movies have come out pretty well though,

I have never been compared to King, or pretty much anybody for that matter. I wonder what the wife will say when I tell her. lol

The coaching staff and the General Mansger do

Newton no favors

put cam behind Dallas offensive line, see what happens

give Newton a decent offense to run see what happens   Follow NE with a decent two tight end system

give Newton  a true qb coach who can teach him at the Pro level

give him a pr and marketing team that does what it is supposed to do

Does he need to get better yes

but the true stories of the panthers

1  failure  to upgrade the personnel offensive line to a pro standard

2 failure to upgrade the offense to a true standard

3 failure to upgrade the coaching staff

in the past Newton's athleticism could make up for these deficiencies  no more  NFL film has caught up to this offense end of story

did the GM and coaching staff hear  the offense getting booed Thursday night  get ready for more

as early as this team is drafting, gettleman's happy ass best be drafting a left tackle  then right tackle and a center in the first 3 rds and if he doesnt, if I was Newton, I would be saying 'trade me'

Even with all that, if the OLine and secondary weren't torn up with injuries, be a much different season for the Panthers.

I separate the style from the substance with Cam- love what he does on the field, he makes plays that no one else can make.[no, I don't like it when he plays the Falcons, duh] Don't like his style, but 1. I'm an old white guy. 2- I  think players in general should act like they've made a play before. It's an age gap thing- Capri pants? Really?  celebrating after every play? Really? Act like you've done it before. that's not just Cam, but all of the players.

I do think there are times that his style gets in the way of the substance- the 2 point conversion in the Falcon game where he slowed up instead of just getting the 2 points then celebrating. I think he was showboating on the play and it cost him. And his team.

The maturity problem for Cam, in my opinion, is not his celebrations or how he handles himself at pressers, but is in

putting style over substance occasionally.

Not mastering the short passing game for instance. Going for the big play instead of the checkdown.

He way  too frequently passes up a safe short pass for a shot at a long pass.  It's a problem a lot of young QBs with big arms have. As dangerous as Cam can be on the football field, if/when he masters the short passing game, that takes his game to a new more consistent level.
